belfer999
When idling with the A.C. on, I get a really annoying "kind of pendulum effect with the engine fan noise." It seems like the AC compressor and engine cooling fan are out of phase. Instead of a steady fan noise, I hear a repetative thrummmm thrummmm wummmmmm wummmm wummmm sound at regular intervals. Do you guys know what I'm talking about? Fortunately, the fan is not stuck on. When I turn off the AC, the noise stops. Could this be a sign that the A.C. is going bad? I'm talking about a loud, kind of booming sound from the engine bay that reverberates in the cabin. Ideas?
char kuey teow
I have the same problem. At first I thought it was car near me playing their stereo with the bass thurned up all the way. Then I turned the AC on and off and realized it was my car. It's annoying. Another thing that Subaru needs to improve on.
