OEM or aftermarket windshield replacement?

P. Henry

Recommended Posts

I've searched and seen some suggest only using the OEM glass for windshield replacement while others say to use PPG or another aftermarket replacement due to increased durability.

One shop I called only uses OEM glass while a second shop only uses PPG.

Any advice?

OEM so the tint matches the other windows.

and oem rubber moulding

my windshield replaced 2 times before they got it right.

1. out with the cracked old. scratch in new non-oem glass. top tint doesn't match our oem. (out it came)

2. they installed generic moulding which doesn't work with our cars. (out it came)

3. went for oem glass and moulding and they finally did a good job.
