elxkid
I like how the 350 is spanking everyone and then gets OWNED by the WRX. Xenonk
I like how the 350 is spanking everyone and then gets OWNED by the WRX. What mods do those cars have since they are both pretty quick... the WRX is Element Tuning's car. He's running 533 whp on pump gas and 585 wph on race.. it has a lot to list, but the main things to note that it runs on a dogbox tranny by PPG and Andrewtech put it together. The block is stock at 2.0L but the bottom end has pistons and conrods... the turbo is a custom setup that's similar to a GT35R.. front LSD is upgraded to a Quiaffe, and well, the car weighs in aroound 2900 lbs with one HUGE fuel delivery system and the Hydra running the engine Management (Element Tuning's flagship engine management unit, hopefully coming soon for GTs). the 350z is mated with a turbonetics kit, FMIC, running M/Ts at the strip, and it pushing something around 400+ whp/360+ wtq. The motor finally quit on him just recently and it's now in the shop to get a new motor and possibly some upgraded internals.. but besides that, the motor itself was completely stock at 3.5L and original OEM parts and all I believe. Typical fuel delivery and exhaust work was present.. the engine management is a UTEC. Keefe

I don't run race tires and you probably drive your car harder than me. trohler
Nice vid's. Do you have multiple camera mounts or just one that you can easily move from one spot to another? Tolly 07 Impreza 2.5i Special Edition 07 Kawasaki Ninja

Xenonk
Nice vid's. Do you have multiple camera mounts or just one that you can easily move from one spot to another? Tolly I use to run 3 cameras at once, controlled by a typical/cheap A/V switch that you can buy from Best Buy or Radio Shack for $20: http://www.km0t.com/pages/pagegraphics/jan200119.jpg I would have 3 inputs for the cameras feeding in and 1 output goes to the VCR/Laptop/Camcorder/Digital Recorder. Nowadays I just use one camera on the GT and just relocate the camera using either the clamp or suction cup base: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/xenonk2828/GT-Car/camera.jpg Most of the track days now i just mount the camera on the windshield. The camera weighs nothing. See them at http://www.chasecam.com Keefe
Xenonk
Nice. I love that sound. Thanks, I only have a straight 2.5" pipe from the final cat back to the mid-section of the car.. saved me close to 40 lbs or more just by doing that: http://img129.imageshack.us/img129/6715/img0547wi6.jpg it's behind the rear axle, so I am fine for STU rules and the final cat is required for that class. Tommyh
btw, did you ever get the chance to weight it?? My assumption from the non-limited vs limited was maybe 90 lb difference?? power seats + moonroof? I don't know about his, but my TR edition wagon weighs 3460+/-5 with me sitting in when it's "stripped" down to it's autcrossing form. I weigh in at 165 dressed. So in that case the car weighs in at 3295+/-5. Martin Luther - "Who loves not women, wine and song remains a fool his whole life long." Xenonk
there's nothing TR about that car I weigh 155 dressed.. my car totals out to 3475 with me in it and 7/8 tank of gas.. full interior and I left the spare in the trunk. But since then, I think I dropped out even more weight: lighter wheels and tires = 25 lbs worth? no spare = 35 lbs worth? no cat back exhaust = 40 lbs worth? I still have yet to swap out the battery, so that should give me another 20 lbs.. so at the end I might weight just at 3350 with me in the car.. I think GOTO Racing's GT is at 3100 with the driver and a full cage/GAC race prepped? Here's my thread on my initial weigh-in: http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3906 Keefe

Yeah I think it's about an 80 lb. difference and I weigh about 155. -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz

Xenonk
Nice, I liked watching you chase Myles. It's awesome how he was using every inch of the track. chasing? haha, I actually had to slow down for him so we could get some video, he lined up at the back of the grid while I was at the front of the grid with Phil in his WRX (I have that video link above).. so by the time I got enough laps in, I basically came around to lap Myles. He really pushed that Outback soo hard on street tires (T1Rs).. I couldnt help to laugh of seeing him pushing that little car around with Andrew (one of his employees) sitting shotgun. I was laughing too hard to even concentrate my own driving and watching Myles countersteering (see the inside front wheel twitch back and forth as he was trying to correct the mild oversteer as he was powering out of the turns). It was a fun time for me to watch, but after about 2 to 3 laps I decide to inch forward to get a pass, he gave me the point by and I just went back to driving my 7/10ths speed. I had to pull the GT back down to 4/10ths driving since my car is making 2x the hp. Btw, Myles' Outback sports the 2005 LGT brake setup with Endless SSM brake pads Keefe
SWortham
I knew you weren't struggling to keep up or anything, lol. I just thought it was fun to watch Myles on the limit with that car. Reminds me of the Elantra on a road course... slow. When everything moves in slow motion driving becomes a little easier. That's the point though I think. I saw his post over at NASIOC and it sounds like he's going to be using that car as a training vehicle for other drivers.
Xenonk
^ yes, as that car is slow, so things happen so much slower that you can ACTUALLY talk someone through the turn word by word without short-hand pace notes, Keefe
