StealthGT
Speaking with Perrin rep today about the FMIC fitment, and he mentioned that 2005 Legacy GT models have recently been recalled for faulty motor mounts and before they break they are likely to stretch. Has anyone else heard of such a thing? If true, I would expect the news all over this board. I tried to Google it but came up empty.

Opie
There are no recalls or TSB's out for any motor mount issues, nor have I heard of any issues with any of the Legacy motor mounts.

wukindada
Having any issues with the overflow tank? If I have been running in traffic & I park the car. I'll come out to a small puddle with the drip comming from the overflow tank hose. Really think the overflow tank is undersized....... Mine keeps the cooling system pressurized for up to 12hrs after shutting down:rolleyes: Toyota 6EATS .........SUCK!!!!!!
StealthGT
I'll keep an eye on it and let you know. But keep in mind that I'm running with a Koyo radiator so it probably behaves differently. Waiting on the Perrin guys to answer my question about fitment. Honestly, that's frightening. Adam at Perrin spoke with absolute certainty about the SOA recall for inferior motor mounts saying that was one probably cause for my fitment (rubbing) issue. Do these guys just make shit up?

sutter2k
After two beatings on the dyno, I do feel like the car has a little more play in the driveline. e.g. something has loosened up a tad. Matt
StealthGT
well, I asked Adam at Perrin for the specific SOA recall notice to verify his claim. here's his response.... I do not have the exact number, but locally I know of at least 10 people that have gotten them replaced. The dealer ends up installing the old style 2 piece motor mounts. Literally the plastic mounts break, and one side of the engine or the other just flops around! The first signs are oil leaking from mount. Scary stuff! But be careful, 2 friends of mine got denied as they had a lot of mods done to the car. So something to be aware of if you have this problem. 93formula
I think he is talking about the 06 STI failures maybe. Ours, or at least mine, are rubber not plastic. Sounds like BS to me.
BOXRPWR
That would be classic Perrin-ese. Switching one situation for another just enough to confuse the customer.

VTGT
Yeah its hard to explain, ok. right under where the gas pump is inserted there is usually an accumulation of gas in that area. I have never topped off my gas, yet i always find some there. Its strange hopefully not dangerous.
StealthGT
okay....you're starting to scare me. exactly how does that relate in any way to the topic of this thread? are you suggesting a SOA recall for this "problem"?
