06 Legacy GT Wagon pricing - is this a decent deal?

Recommended Posts

I'm in the process of battling with internet quotes and dealerships...

I've just been offered $26.8k for an 06 LGT Wagon (auto). Is this a decent deal?

I think the current market price is $28k, and with the $1500 cash back, the 06 pricing should actually be $26.5k

Would I be hard-pressed to negotiate a deal for $26k even for an 06 LGT Wagon?

Thanks,

It would help to have a little more info, like location, prices vary from region to region. Optional equipment? Nav, etc?

Dealers want to be rid of the 06's though, so I bet they will go lower than the first offer if you push hard enough.

I am in the Seattle, WA area.

I think I will ask for $26k. I think that is a fair price for a 2006.

I heard there is about a $2k-$3k difference between model years.

The Wagon I was looking at did not have any additional options or NAV.

That actually is a tad low for a 5AT-S wagon. Remember, the MSRP is $31820 w/ no accessories, invoice @ $29320. $26k is less than net-net-net. If it were an 05 then the dealer would be dumb to keep it but the 06 is still in the game.

I just bought my 06 LGT limited 5MT last night for $24,500 - out the door. I used my $500 Subaru loyalty bucks certificate so it was actually $25K total. Don't stop haggling until you get what you want. I had to travel to a dealer 2 hours away, but it was worth it to save a couple grand.

By OTD, you mean taxes/tags included? So what was the pre-tax price. This is the amount that's really comparable across states.

By my calculations, which should be accurate because I have the paperwork in my hand, my VA TTT cost $1132.69. That makes the pre-tax price $23,867.31. The car had a sticker price of $29,766.-

I would say this is a decent deal.

Btw, this evening going to test drive a 2007 2.5i wagon manual for my wife. This will cost me ~$18.5+tax/tags.

Called the guy on the phone and he wouldn't budge. Guess I'll wait a week and still see if he wants to sell it to me then.

How much of a loss do you want him to take? Geeze people.
