team23jordan
oooh yeahi'm soo happy that i finally installed it!big thanks to yukonart!! anyways here's my short reviewi tried it in softest setting and 8-9 clicks and 12-14 clicks to make it harderi love where i'm at now. 10-11 clicks.people complain about how coilovers ride stiffbut its totally different feel. BUT i like it this way a lot betterit corners a lot better. some shocks from the stiffer suspension is actually absorbed by our comfy LGT seats. My rear is lower than what I want so i'm gonna raise the rear and lower the front little bit more. softest setting rides like my brother's e46 m3 if not tiny bit stiffer Perrin BIG maf intake Perrin Turbo Inlet HKS SSQV BOV Megan Racing header with UP (ceramic coated) HKS DP (WRX) DMH E-cutout Custom 3" catback UTEC

The rear always comes out too low if you installed them as configured out of the box. I have some static length recommendations posted somewhere that give a nice level ride height. The ride is even better when you raise the back a bit and remove the bumpstops from the chassis of the car. As for the dampening, you are pretty much where I had mine set. I liked 13 clicks up from soft in the front and 10 clicks up from soft on the rear best. Firm but controlled. BTW, thanks for posting your impressions. team23jordan
I really dont see a point of gettin tein flex with EDFCi can just pop my hood and change the frontsand pop my truck to change the rears (had to cut the carpet like a 1" square) Perrin BIG maf intake Perrin Turbo Inlet HKS SSQV BOV Megan Racing header with UP (ceramic coated) HKS DP (WRX) DMH E-cutout Custom 3" catback UTEC
CreoSTi
I agree, as I have the same access holes in the rear for my Cusco coilovers. It's more of a problem in the WRX/STi, as you'd either have to take out the back seat or get under the car for adjustments (depending on the unit)... I would spring for the EDFC or similar in that case. -Mike-
Xenonk
EDFCs are for the lazies there' s a huge warning thats says "NO!!!" and "DON'T!" for people that adjust the EDFCs while the car is motion.. that's a really bad thing to do. The Zeals I have are bottom for the fronts (inverted monotube reasons) and tops for the rears. On the RS I drive, all the adjustments are done externally of the car from the bottom.. so there's no need to un-install the seat to get to the shocks.. but for the rear camber plates on the other hand.... Xenonk
team23jordan, you should readjust your shocks and spring preload so that you can use the softer range of your shocks to pro-long the life of the shock for daily driving.. but then again, I am not sure what spring rates you have and how much preload you have for your shocks.. you paid for ALL of the adjustment range, you should take advantage of it. On my Zeals, I fun full soft for the streets, and when Im on the track, I adjust the shocks to my needs from that point on. Keefe

If one typically uses the softer end of the settings, should one adjust the preload from where it is set from the factory? rayu
Boostjunkie
Boostjunkie, What do you think? If one typically uses the softer end of the settings, should one adjust the preload from where it is set from the factory? rayu I'd suggest starting off with just enouigh preload to securely seat the springs. Dampening is going to be up to you. As I mentioned earlier, I liked mine best set at 13 clicks up from full soft in the front and 10 clicks up from soft in the rear. Given that they have 32 clicks, that is still more or less in the bottom 1/3 of the adjustment range. Feel free to adjust up or down from there to suit your personal tastes. Xenonk
you can have zero preload to have the springs seat properly, but that's the whole point to preloading, you can preload more, right now you have zero force on the spring. If you up the spring preload, you could have a better and stiffer initial feel to a lot of the turn-in/transititions and braking because the spring is doing some of the work of the weight transfer, and thus this can allow the shocks not needing to deal with such of the forces. The shock's rebound forces are there to control the speed/force released by the spring (bound is by the compression of the spring). Use your springs and shocks accordingly to make full use out of them. You'll be suprised of how much the car handles better when you adjust a few more things on the coilovers.
