garygbnj
06 legacy gt 2.5 mtap all was fine till I stepped on the gas while starting the car. Trouble starting, finally started and check engine light was on. Stayed on for 3-5 days then went out. Came back a few days later. Stayed on part of the day and went out and stayed out for 2.5 weeks. Brought to an AP dealer for final tune. Check engine light came on about 3 times-only on starting. Tuner kep't clearing the light but no hard code was shown. Car runs great-330 flywheel horse and went up almost 6 miles per gallon on the hwy. Any ideas? gary

TSiWRX
^ +1 It's well-known that the AP doesn't detect all codes. If you don't have access to a proper scan-tool, at least try (1) using the on-board reader, (2) using one of the free datalogging software, such as ecuExplorer, and/or (3) going down to your local AutoZone to get the code pulled (free service) using a handheld OBD-II reader. <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family
rallispec
I dont think that the AP has EVER identified a code for me. the on board reader has worked every time.

ilh
Really? It was VERY DIFFICULT to find the wires in my 05. They were tucked way up above the fuse panel, and I could have sworn they weren't in there, but they were.

TSiWRX
^ Update/Edit Indeed, it looks like the '06s do not have the onboard code-reader function!
