'07 Legacy deals

Anyone know whan they usually start having deals on new model years?? Right now all the incentives are for 06's.

I'm not sure what they changed or deleted, but it looks like '07 2.5i are ~$1000 cheaper than an '06 (before any incentives). From what the dealer told me, they finally added folding rear seats in the sedan.

And no I haven't seen any used 05+ GT's, and I can't afford a new one.

I test drove an Impreza wagon yesterday, even with auto it doesn't feel that much slower than my GA (also has 4AT).

I called Subaru and they told me that maybe there will be incentives for 07 in Septemeber. Take it FWIW.

I was kinda thinking about buying a 2006 2.5i MT seden SE for my wife, now I think I'd prefer a wagon, but 2006 2.5i MT wagons are gone (both SE and base), except one demo, which I don't want.

So I am thinking about 2007 2.5i MT wagon base. Screw the sunroof. At least kids would not prefer it over my 2005 GT unlimited wagon :-)

Most dealers near me have only a couple '06 Forresters and Legacys left, most of stock is '07s. No '07 Imprezas yet.

I was told there aren't any incentives on the '07 Legacy yet, but the MSRP and invoice prices are ~$1000 less than an '06.

IIRC, the MSRP and prices are $500 less than '06. There is a new $750 customer cash starting 8/11 for '07.

I ordered an 07 LGT 5EAT on July 17th. Around Aug. 4th they told me it would be in the first week of September. I just dropped by today and my salesman & his manager told me it is at the "railhead" and would be placed on a truck tomorrow, so it should be in Reno on Wednesday or Thursday. They also told me I get a $750 rebate off invoice so it is not as good as $1500 but better than nothing. That's the current deal on 07 rebates for the LGT. I have an appointment with the salesman and the finance manager tomorrow so I'll find out what I can get on financing.

Has anyone purchased an extended warranty? I drive a lot and should probably get a 100,000 mile extension. I'm prepared to pay $1500 but would like to get it around $1000. Has anyone done this?

That's for the NW, I live in the NE. However it looks like the same deal we get here.

Also doesn't mention if you get the special interest rates for an '07, only says you get the special interest rates and cash back for an '06.

I just did an online insurance quote for an '06 Impreza 2.5i sport wagon and an '07 Legacy 2.5i sedan, even though the Legacy costs ~$3K more, I'd pay $130 less a year. But an Impreza would only be $12 cheaper than my Grand Am. Makes no sense to me. :iam:

Got quoted $19.6 for 2007 2.5i wagon manual. I guess this is after $750 rebate. I guess it's not that bad. I'll try few more dealers and start bidding war.

Forgot to mention. I called Subaru asking for those $500 loyalty coupons. They said they will give me $500 off new Subaru anyway, given I have just bought one few months ago. Got a case number and all I have to do is to fax them invoice once I get the car. Good for six months.

Nice, huh? :woowoo:

Got this matched by another dealer with 6 years / 60,000 miles added security classic plan. So that's getting better.

very nice unclemat...I received a quote of $19.3k earlier today I believe, seems decent but still a little too much.

I'm not in a rush to buy and we all know these aren't exactly the hottest sellers, my goal is $20k OTD here in NJ with a decent financing (no finance deals on 07's though).

Are you getting rid of your LGT then? Or is it an additional Suby?

OK now I'm really baffled by auto insurance - price quote for an '05 GT Limited is still $44 cheaper a year than my GA!!!! I have USAA.

I was wrong, there are a few '05 GTs around, some are even under 20K.

Hmmm..... used GT or new 2.5i??? Tough choice ;)

Also shopping for 2.5i manual wagon? By OTD you mean TTL included? That may be little hard now, but perhaps not imposble. Indeed it would be nice to have that 0%/24 months finance deal.

I am not in rush, either.

Extra Subie for wifey. Decided to become 100% wagon Suby family. I was thinking about sedan, but wagon looks better, more cargo room (it will be kids hauler). Ya know, don't want her to borrow my LGT. You, see LGT manual wagon is esentially collectible these days.

Besides decided to support wagons as a part of my kultur-kampf and improving wagon sales statistics in the U.S. Wish wagons sold better here - we would have better selection and there would be less ridiculous SUVs on the roads.

stanjk3 - if that's gonna by your only Legacy, get a LGT, no brainer. As long as you can afford the gas and tickets :icon_wink

We already have a '95 Legacy Wagon, but it has the 2.2L and auto, so it's not really that fun to drive.

I only drive 6K miles a year, so the extra few $$$ I'll spend on gas won't be a problem. I fill up twice a month, and that's usually only 1/2 - 5/8 of a tank. I only get 19-20 MPG in my GA. Figure premium is ~$.20 more than regular, for 8 gals that's $1.60. Over a year that's only ~$40. Believe it or not, I'll save that much in insurance vs. my GA for one year.

I'm a pretty reasonable driver, I'll floor it to get up to speed but then let off.

Now you answered yourself. Go, get LGT!!! Manual FTW (but that limits you to sedan, damn Subaru).

heh heh

Do NOT pass GO, do NOT collect $200, go directly to the dealer and get a LGT!!!

Actually I'd prefer auto. Manual sucks in stop-and-go traffic.

Don't need another wagon, but if I find a good enough deal I'd get a wagon over a sedan.

Now if only I can sell my GA myself. Trade-in I'll get $4K, if I sell it I might get a little over $5K.

Anyone know what other fees dealers usually tack on?? I don't know of any online payment calculators that give you at least a guesstimate. Best I've seen so far is Edmund's, that gives you tags and sales tax.

I test drove the LGT I listed above, but the numbers were a little higher than I expected. They offered $4500 for my trade-in, figure in another $1000 down payment, that leaves $17490 to be financed. Edmund's says $1,379 for sales tax, $345 for tags. The price quote the dealer gave assumes you have average credit, which translates to 7.9%. 7.9% over 6 years is $336/month. So how then do they get to $400/month?

Of course they want to keep financing "in-house". But with USAA (they also do loans) I can get a loan at 6.25%, which is $321/month.

Since the car is used, I don't qualify for the special financing deals they have on '06s (0% for 24 months, then 5.9%, for a 5 or 6 year loan).

I also test drove an '07 2.5i SE. Even halfway flooring it in the GT feels way faster than flooring it in a 2.5i. There was too much traffic to really floor it in either car.

Actually i'm looking for a 5sp SE sedan...lowest price I was able to get was ~$21k OTD on an 07 so far. :(

Not sure if I mentioned this, but the dealbreaker on the 06's for me was the fact that the rear seats don't come down.
