Mines
Hey Guys I have an H7 HID kit that my cousing just gave me. I want to change my bulbs to genuine philips D2S bulbs. I was wondering if I could keep the same ballast? and if I could keep it, what modifictations i would need to make to the projecter and what additional harnesses would I need to make this work. Also, I was looking around on xenondepot and I found this. 4300k XenonDepot Philips Replacement Bulb XD-4k-RB I was wondering if these bulbs are genuine philips d2s bulbs modified to fit the h7 housing or these are something else. thanks guys

VXCL
you dont need to modify the projector. it more of an issue of getting the bulb to secure becuase the oem h7 lock wont work. h7 and d2s have the same focal point. also to use your old kit ballasts you will not have d2s connectors to power the bulbs. you can buy the connectors but at that point might as well just drop $150-$200 on a set of oem d2s ballasts with philips d2s bulbs on ebay. i would sell you a set myself but i need it for someone's retro. power_getter
You get H7 to D2S adapter from hidplanet.com
VXCL
You get H7 to D2S adapter from hidplanet.com those def help center the bulb and get it positioned close, but the d2s is so wide you still cant get the oem h7 lock over the d2s base, and even if you did the oem h7 lock then interferes with the power connectors. i had zero luck with that. i figured b4 i do my full xenon d2s projector retro i would mess with the d2s in our projectors to help other members go that route. saw it as a complete waste of time and projector retro was easier for me and better results. I have D2S bulbs in my OEM projector and while the bulb base is a bit wider, I got the locks to fit over them only a little bending. Took about 10 seconds. There is also no interference with the power connectors. Everything just dropped in. The only thing I added were a set of centering rings to position the D2S bulbs in the H7 housings. I've been running my custom HID setup for at least a year and half with no issues whatsoever.

VXCL
Matsushita those are smaller then the hella gen 3 but a little bigger then the kiotos. you should post up a pic of your d2s locked in place. would help alot of members who would like to go the same route and not by a stupid inferior kit.
