Sk8erOrd
I think I answered my question through a search, but I wanted to make sure: There is no factory boost guage option, unless get the cubby pack, right? No steering column mounted one like the WRX? If I get a spec.B, that means no cubby one, so I may need to get an A-pillar gauge holder and then probably boost/EGT gauges for it. So, if I'm right, and there is no option for the steering column, then are there aftermarket a-pillar gauge pods? 2015 Mustang Ecoboost Premium w/ PP (6MT) 2006 LGT Ltd 5MT OBP Cobb Short Throw Shifter | GS Catless Up Pipe Gone
Sk8erOrd
I think I answered my own question again, with further searches (different terms FTW!). Looks like the perrin is the best option. 2015 Mustang Ecoboost Premium w/ PP (6MT) 2006 LGT Ltd 5MT OBP Cobb Short Throw Shifter | GS Catless Up Pipe Gone
chenc544
So, if I'm right, and there is no option for the steering column, then are there aftermarket a-pillar gauge pods? There is an airbag behind the a-pillar so you can't put gauge pod there.

Sk8erOrd
If I get the spec.B, the cubbypod is not an option, correct? I'd really be happy with one just like my WRX's, so long as it matches the LGT gauges. 2015 Mustang Ecoboost Premium w/ PP (6MT) 2006 LGT Ltd 5MT OBP Cobb Short Throw Shifter | GS Catless Up Pipe Gone
Guest
There is an airbag behind the a-pillar so you can't put gauge pod there. You can, no worries. The a-piller cover does not fly in your face when airbags deploy. There is a link to a video somehere in this forum.
TSiWRX
^ +1. Although I'm not sure it was a video - I know there's a set of post-crash pictures showing the extent of A-pillar trim displacement from bag deployment, but I am uncertain if there's a live-action video.... Regardless, the AVO pod positioning can definitely be said to be "safe." And most who are on the conservative side will say that you're fine if you just stay to the lower half of the trim. However, there have been "full-length" installs done by some members, and it's not unreasonable to say that they *should* be just fine, too. The airbag/a-pillar "no-no" is currently regarded here as to be on the order of "urban legend." <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family
dark_templer_102
Ya there is a video of the Legacy's side being smashed in a test and that part of the A-pillar doesn't have an airbag. Wait, you can't get a steeringwheel moutned guage? Odd...i had that as an option.
chuckzul
+10000 I got an inexpensive gauge and mounting cup and mounted it on the steering wheel (in the same location as the WRX), works great and I only spent about $50 on it.
Effin Ponderous
I thought I saw a slip on guage pod somewhere. It kinda clamped on the A pillar and looked as though it would pop off easily in case the air bag employed.

Meltdown07
Anyone wanna throw some pics up of their late model LGT aftermarket gauges? I'm really happy with mine. I didnt want to give up my cubby, and really prefer this look anyway. I think A-pillar setups just are too flashy and not stealthy enough. Everyone around you can see them. Personal opinion though. I bought a 45mm Omori Full Color boost Gauge with Steering Column pod for $150 from here: J-Spec Tuning Couldn't be happier with it, and it matches the stock illumination. I put it on the right side of the column, where it doesnt block anything for 5EAT owners. I still have full view of everything. 3rd pic is a point-of-view picture to show what I see. Go Cardinals!
