Catsmeow
Can anybody tell me what an absolute bottom line price would be for a 2006 2.5i Legacy Outback Wagon in western Pennsylvania (Penn-Jersey Region)? Since SoA began its model year clearance, some dealers in my area have been offering almost $5K off MSRP. That's sounds good at first glance (maybe even great) but my thinking is, if that's what being offered, there's likely even more savings that can be had. Though I wasn't originally in the market for an OBW, if the price can be negotiated to be just too good to pass up, I simply won't. Not having time to search out and investigate all price reduction leads and options, I'd be grateful if someone could bring me up to speed on what could be called "a killer deal." TIA.http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b259/Catsmeow_/Impreza%20Wagon/outback-25-color-car-turmalingruen.jpg \\\=^..^=///

Catsmeow
carsdirec.com minus $500 - $1000. Chenc544, Could you please elaborate: As instructed, I visited carsdirec.com but was unsure where to go from there to get '06 Subaru OBW pricing. Did you perhaps mean MSRP less the $5,000 I mentioned in my original post less $500 to $1,000 more? Or did you mean additonal discounts of $500 and S1,000?? In any case, whence the additional discount(s) because surely the dealership won't easily part with that money without an explanation??? If none of what I just wrote applies or makes sense, please unconfuse me. Once again, many thanks. \\\=^..^=///

Was this an out-the-door price with all fees, plates and taxes included, or was this the bottom-line price before the aforesaid unavoidable expenses?? Whatever the case it appears you got a grand slam, winning deal: CONGRATULATIONS!!! BTW, did this price include the $500 SUBARU OWNER LOYALTY PROGRAM certificate discount available to some Subaru owners??? I ask because I happen to have one of those in my pocket and plan on using it when I make my deal. Please let me know ASAP. Many thanks for your help my friend. `\\\=^..^=///
revhigh
Applicable fees are extra. Like tags, tax, etc. I called every dealer in the PA/NJ/NY area, and as soon as they heard they were against Becker they stated that they don't compete with Becker. Honest to God, the price I mentioned is no haggle, and they have a football field full of new outbacks. 10 or more of every color, and option package. I bet they have 200 new outbacks. Just pick one., and buy it for that price. If you go there ask for Will Trask, he's a good guy. REVHIGH !!!!!!!!! PS It did not include the loyalty thing, I never owned a Sub before. I'd call and ask if it was applicable.

I explicitely mentioned my quote from Becker.
revhigh
Which local dealer did that ??? I called dealers from Hazleton, to Stroudsburg, and none were even willing to talk once I mentioned Becker's name. I actually am in the market for an impreza WRX, so I would like to try your dealer on for size. Also, if you haven't actually purchased the car yet, dealers are known to say anything to get you in the door, then change when you're actually there. Be aware of that. Especially if there's a trade involved. All of a sudden your trade is worth 3K less, and then the deal's not so good anymore. REVHIGH !!!!! revhigh
Unclemat I noticed your message in the Legacy forum, and you stated you had gotten 19,600 for a base L i manual wagon. THe list on that car is only a little over 22000. My outback at Becker listed for 26420, and I got it for 20,600. With a manual, it would have been 19,600. So it appears that the deal you got at 19,600 for a car that only lists for 22,300 or so could be better, unless there's add ons you didn't list. Check it out. I checked Becker's website and only found 1 '07 L i wagon ... manual, and it was right at about 22,120 I think, that's 4300 less than the auto outback. I would think you can do much better than 19,600 for a car that MSRP's at 4K less than the outbacks. REVHIGH !!!!!!
Guest
Revhigh, that was Coleman Subaru in Trenton. I hate their salesmen, they harrass me all the time. Probably because they think I am serious, when I looked for my LGT I taked to them but found 05 leftover elsewhere. I took it to their service, and their salesman saw me their with my car. Now that I mentioned I am in the market for a 2.5i they are killing me with their phone calls. Sure, they are rather nasty dealership, so I'd not be surprised about all the switches. But noone pulls stupid tricks on Da Onkel, you know Of course officially now I buy cash and no trade... may change once I hit the number I like. Ooops, as I type they call me again... wrrr... not picking up the phone. Caller id is a good thing. Fact is, I am not that serious... if they had 0-2% financing deal, perhaps I would consider it. I am old fashioned, meaning I have aversion to credit, but due to cash flow I don't feel like dropping another $20k something cash on another car just few months after I bought one. OTOH, my wife's car is old crap and time to get rid of it. Hmmm.
Guest
Revhigh, but your quote is for 2006 OB, right? My quote was for 2007 Legacy.
revhigh
That's correct, the 20,599 price is for an 06 automatic 2.5i outback that lists at 26,420, without the auto, it's 19,599 Yeah, I understand, I was just saying that for a car that's 4K less than the outback, I would think the deal would be around 17 or so. Maybe there's not as much discounting going on for the Legacys. REVHIGH !!!!!!
Guest
Yeah, the Outback deal sounds nice. However the OB would have to cost $15 k to make me buy it instead of a Legacy
