funkpelts
My new LGT has a door handle that is kinda iffy. Has anyone else had this problem and is it worth having my dealer dink with it?
MilesA
What do you mean by "iffy"? And which door handle are you referring to: inside or outside?
Scooter
And which door handle are you referring to: inside or outside? +1..? If it's the inside handle, then yeah, I probably had the same problem. funkpelts
Inside the door. Everything looks fine, but sometimes when you try to open the door the handle gives a little bit of resistance. I don't know how good my local dealer will be at fixing this. It's only maybe 1 out of 5 tries that this happens, but the door handle itself doesn't seem like it is built very well, and I don't know if it could break sometime. What do you mean by "iffy"? Scooter
Hmmm. That's not actually the problem I had, after all. Mine was a fit issue with the big fixed 'grab handle' on the door panel, not the actual release mechanism. My grab handle never fit right at the top and after replacing that handle twice and having it break again, I encouraged my dealer to replace the whole door trim panel, which they did. Yours sounds like something you should definitely take in and complain about, but it also sounds like one of those types of things the dealerships aren't very good at fixing. Or acknowledging. If you can show them that the mechanism feels different than the other doors they should be willing to address it for you. Good luck! Seek first to understand, then to be understood. Does not happen every time. I keep waiting for the day that I go to open the door and it breaks the mechanism. I do not think the dealer can fix b/c it is hard to re-create the problem. MrCoffee
Same problem here. Dealership said it would be a pain to fix and on my dollar since it's not causing problems.
