The B4
I would swap for the proper colored car if I was in your situation for same reasons heightsgtltd mentioned. You'll be hard pressed to find a buyer to believe that Subaru screwed up that badly. Rather they would probably assume you had the entire car repainted, or it was a regular GT w/Spec parts swapped in. Also, I don't know about AK, but down here in NY the color of the car and what's stated on the title is supposed to match, in order to avoid complications during registration. Lastly, does anyone find it ODD that this "one of a kind" car wound up in all places, ALASKA? Logically AK and HI should be the last places to receive MY07's no? My conspiracy theory is Subaru realized its mistake and thought it could cover up the blunder by sending it to the most desolated place possible, instead of rectifying the problem upon discovery. Shame on SOA!!! SOA doesn't send the cars anywhere... they send cars to a region... then they are randomly traded around districts to find a home. Jair
Not to worried about resale value, I could always get a letter from SOA if I wanted also on the passenger door, the dealer sticker states the car is painted 39B, which is the correct color that it is painted. Not to worried about the off color fog light inserts, I could always have them painted to match but I think the look is alright, it will look better with the v-limited lip once I get one. The silver is really subtle, I think it will just take some getting used to, I'm happy with the outcome, thats all that really matters, making sure the customer is happy and satisfied. Guest
Ask Subaru for some cash back or something. They should give you like $500-750. They give that for repeat customers if you just call and ask politely. You will have extra funds for mods.

what
Its probably the dudes 06 Spec B that was having Electrical problems, so when Subaru got it back they just pulled some stuff out and put in 07 stuff and "wah lah!" Subaru doesnt lose all its money from a lemon 06 Spec B...
Jair
The issue has been resolved, it is the only one of its kind, it was a mistake at the factory and I will be getting a letter stating so, in case I ever do sell or trade it. Subaru and Continental Motors and the Subaru Western Region office have been very kind and attentive to the matter, what more can any one ask for. I didn't realize the 07 Legacys all had the blacked out foglight areas, so they are staying stock color. Evan

androxt
Interestingly, I saw an '07 Forester XT at the Ventura Subaru dealer in CA. It is a Diamond Grey, but like this Spec. B, I think it is a silver car. I had already seen a real Diamond Grey and test drove it down in Tustin, and this one just doesn't look the same. IwannaSportSedan
I'd break the bank to buy a "Diamond Gray Metallic" 07 Spec B that was actually, mistakenly painted blue. WR Blue, Newport Blue, Regal, Atlantic... I am not that picky... I wonder if this car will be cool like those weird Golf/Rabbits that are special and piecemeal painted... They have a name that I am not remembering at the moment.... They built 4 or 5 Golfs that were each painted a different bright color, and then all the removeable body parts, doors, fenders, hood, hatch, trims, etc.. were mixed up and re-attached, creating a small group of crazy multi-colored cars. They were featured in a commercial at the time. They just did it again with the new re-badged golf-to-rabbit changeover. The commercial with white, gray, and black rabbit cars all over, and a couple of them are mixed up by the factory, on purpose. I think it would be cool as hell to have a factory error car like this one. Not a factory messed-up car, but a car that is different than the factory normally builds them, by the specs. lunarx
nevermind.......found post #62 i'd keep it. bsm looks better. since you already got them on their heels, however, make them swap out the alcantara seats for straight charcoal leather, and you'll have the best of all worlds. +1 Smart Man

androxt
It's not the same, it's silver. The one in Tustin had the flecks in the paint and was a bit darker and the one in Ventura doesn't seem to have the flecks....although I have made mistake here...it is the Urban Gray I am speaking of, not the Diamond Gray. rallysquirrel
I just picked up my specB today. WOWWW It's amazing. What a refined ride compared to the '03 WRX I just sold. Gearbox: The car is very silent and the 6 speed gearbox is butter (and TALL), not at all notchy like the WRX. NAV: I've got issues with the NAV as i'm not liking the interface too much. Not enough options for me on it. Don't take it wrong, I haven't completely liked any NAV. Handling: I thought it was quite good, but I need a couple of weeks when I can start opening up the car WOT. Then we'll see. Comparing to WRX with strut tower bars and 2002 sedan rear swaybar, the car is smoother on the highway and in the corners it handles very precisely, with maybe a little more body roll. Brakes: oh they'll need to be upgraded with at least SS lines. Not liking that feel. Sound system: if the one in the WRX was a 3, this would be a 7 or 8. I'll probably post some pics up on sunday. Gotta watch the NAV DVD to see if there's some things I wasn't able to figure out how to change. Wheels and tires getting put on Monday. 5lbs lighter at each corner. Jair
Grats Squirrel, its a great car, finally been using it in sports and sport sharp mode, pulls really nice. I agree about the brakes, slightly mushy and ss lines will defintely make a difference, they are on my buy list along with the black Sti limited brakes. Just picked up the JDM front lip spoiler and JDM rear lip (nice thing about the BSM color, its pre-painted), should have them installed sometime next week. rallysquirrel
Dtmenace Nothing resembling a boost gauge. Pretty much when you see the MPG needle drop, you're in boost. There is a display that shows you from LEFT to RIGHT: instantaneous MPG, overall trip MPG % acceleration
