What do you think of this grill idea...

I used plasti-kote black metalic flake spray paint on my grill wings. The color is a close match to that of the interior parts of the grill. Each wing is held in place by two small screws in back. You'll have to rough them up a bit with a little light sanding to get the paint to adhere properly. While the parts list shows the wings separate from the whole grill, it doesn't list a separate part number for them.

I'll check the details for you, it was some leftover black plastic paint that I had from re-doing some interior panels in my Barracuda. I sanded the chrome ones down with 800 grit, cleaned with plastic prep, primed with plastic primer, and sprayed the color coats. Finish is flat black, which doesn't quite match the color of the grille (which is a dark dark gray with a hint of metal flake), but looks fine to my eyes.

hey gohmer, did you get that done at a shop? Nice! How much did they charge?

I was actually getting my windows tinted next to a body shop. I talked to some guys there that were doing the painting and they did it for $50. I thought it was a great deal!
