And then I tried it out!!!

I also got one of those mothers powerballs for the wheels. It seems to work well.

I went super cheap here, $40 for the polisher.... Vector WaxxPro 10" polisher from Autozone I was gonna clay and polish and seal and everything, but i didn't buy the polisher untill about 10 pm. So all I did was wash with dish soap, ues the polisher to apply Wolfgang Pre-Wax Polish Enhancer, the used Wolfgang Sealant applied and removed by hand.

Nice work at keeping the car relatively swirl free then. :) Wolfgang doesn't remove or hide swirls, so what you see is what you get on those pictures. Be careful with that machine if you use anything abrasive with it. Buffers like that don't typically have the power or speed to break down polishes properly and can end up damaging your paint. They are designed for exactly what you used it for.

and OC didnt catch it?

It isn't a bad thing to do once in awhile. Dish soap will strip the old wax and sealants off the car so that you have a cleaner surface to start with. It is actually a recomendation I make in one of my articles. Obviously you don't want to start with dish soap on every detail, but it does have a good use.

Doesn't clay bar and/or polish remove the old stuff, too?

Clay isn't designed to remove waxes and sealants, so some of that may very well remain. Besides, if you wash your car with Dawn (the most effective of the dish soaps) then you will have less work when you are claying. That is always a good thing.

Just remember to use a dish soap that doesn't have the fru fru hand lotions and junk in it. You don't need to moisterize your paint before you clean it. Just get something strong that doesn't have a bunch of other junk in it. Blue Dawn has always been the favorite for detailers. Until recently it only came in one color and strength and has always been great at cutting oils and waxes off the car.

ooooooh.... nice. I'd ask you to send me some, but I've got industrial fallout remover and acid baths that work just as well. ;) I'm jealous that you have easy access to a great detergent like Dawn. I know a lot of detailers who would be begging for some.
