turboman38
Would you used a stock STI up pipe with NO heat shields? I bought one off the NASIOC site and the guy sadi it had the heat shields on it but it does not. Let me know what you think.

turboman38
It does not have any heat shields on it at all! I don't think I want to use it. what do you think? I found a new Turbo XS up pipe for a good price and it's new but they have no heat shields either. How important are the heat shields? Am I losing Horsepower because of too much engine heat? rc0032
I would return it to the seller and get your $ back. Then get the TurboXS FLEX No hp loss.

turboman38
Is it worth buying the exhaust wrap to solve the problem?
colatkitty
The stock heat shield has a tendency to break off and cause rattling. I have one without a heat shield for the last 20k miles with no problems.
