SlegacyGT
My boss has an s2000 with a supercharger, after cooler, and an intake. He took me for a ride and his car felt a lot faster than mine. I am cobb stage 2. Ap and exhaust, up-pipe? I was sorta surprised.. Any thoughts?
panamajack
I am sure it is faster, but because the car was so small it feels like you are moving way faster than in a comfy LGT. That and the 8k rev limit.
SlegacyGT
rev limit is actually 9k, it's pretty sweet. but he went to the track the other day and ran a 13.83. Most people with stage 2 leggies are running lik elow 13's or better.
panamajack
They are hard to put down fast times. A stock s2k could run 13.9 easy with the proper driver.
Paradiso
Ya think 500-600lbs less weight might have something to do with it?
SlegacyGT
He is always asking to race me. I just think I would get destroyed.. I'll race him to see how close.
panamajack
Race him. I think you will be suprised. Doesn't seem like he knows how to drag his car well. However, if you do a fwy run prepare for a major smackdown.
SlegacyGT
fwy? and by the way he didn't drop the clutch on his run. He just started when the light turned green.. wellll that's what he said

MiniStiGuy
s2000 by no means are slow in any way. Like they said before, don't do a fwy run or he'll walk all over you. Your only advantage will be from a stop against him. OEM HID's Rx330 Retro
Xenonk
first of all, it's a sports car.. it makes plenty of power (especially with a supercharger.. usually, they make about 320 to 350 hp at that time)... and they are way lighter.. like 700 lbs lighter, so dont bother dragging. You should have gone to capital raceway to find out what you can really do with your GT on the drag strip, Kelly and I was there just this last Friday to get in about 6 to 7 runs).. so long as the S2K gets good traction (by actually not spinning the wheels and just let it roll), it will just keep up and then pass you at the higher rpms... Plus, you have an auto, and from a dig, you need to learn how to do a torque-brake launch.. otherwise you will dog out of the box and he'll just leave you behind. A supercharged S2K with a good launch can do something around a 12.5 run easily.. it's probably from the high trap speeds.. seriously, it's pointless, especially just to compare cars.. they are two totally different car classes.. SlegacyGT
is a torque brake launch the same as doing a power brake launch?

wukindada
I have personally seen a S2000 with basically the same equip run a 12.6....he launched the car @ 6k though with drag radials:eek: on street tires with a more moderate launch it could be interesting;) Toyota 6EATS .........SUCK!!!!!! speeding_gaijin
you will launch a lot better because of AWD, seeing you in front from the start, chances are, he'll panic and f*ck up shifting or something

MiniStiGuy
being auto it doesn't even matter... you'll lose unless he screws up his launch. End of Story! btw I'm a member of s2ki.net and have been for awhile and have a decent knowledge base on s2k's as I was going to purchase one before I bought my LGT.(needed 4 doors so went with the LGT) OEM HID's Rx330 Retro
