All interior and exterior lights have been swaped out for LED's...

The color of the license plate light is perfect with ABP! (they look blue in the pic), but they are very white with a hint of blue/purple.

These are extremly close to the color of moonlight!

Try Velocity L.E.D.S... They are light-years ahead of the LED game. New stuff all the time... Also have a store on Ebay.

What rating and style bulbs from Velicity would you recommend for plate lights and step lights respectively?

Jaesx: Lookin' good! Now, as others said, MORE INFO! :D Which 194's did you use? 4, 5, or 6 array? As for interior, again, which ones? The site looks good you pointed out but they are more expensive ($9.99 a pair compared to ~$6 a pair from the WRXguy's site) but it's not much so I'm sure people will be happy either way. :) Update us!!! :p

I'm using what is called the "5 LED Refractor Bulb." This is the same as the "WLED 5-LED Wide Angle LED bulb" on superbrightleds.com. The potential issue with using the "straight line" LEDs is that the OEM bulbs are not oriented towards the plate. The mount is angled away from it, using the side(s) of a filament bulb to illuminate the plate. I'm not sure how the "wider" LEDs look, though.

Guys... I get the picture.

I will take a bunch of night shots with accurate color sat eve...

Velocity Leds have been holding tight for a good 6 months now with no real complaints. If there was one it would be that they keep coming out with new stuff... I buy the hot sh*t and only to find out the next week they have an upgraded High Output designs now. Oh well, have to pick up some of those and check'um out...

Ok so Lic. Plate bulbs... Today I followed WRXGUY's suggestion on not going thru the trunk liner, and instead got the back section off...

Damn that was EZ! 2 Screws and then a series of pop its and it's off!

Thanks again for that shortcut:icon_mrgr

So in doing so I tried my 921 backup bulbs in the License plate socket and it fits in the housing without interference. The 921 is a larger bulb and often contains many more led's in it. Thus even more light!

BUT the new high power bulbs are much shorter and sit lower in the socket. This would work better for our lic plate application

So here is my List of Led's and bulbs that I have swapped out...

Door step lights, Map lights& Dome: total of 5

Currently installed

*(But previously had the festoon style 9 LED but these put out a much brighter directional light.)

Trunk: HID WHITE 24 LED CIRCUIT BOARD BULB 194

http://img95.imageshack.us/img95/6781/194cbwxk9.jpgThis works well and throws more light than the stock bulb.

Reverse/back-up lights: 921 - 9 led bulb

Brake lights and rear turns 7440 & 7443:

License Plate: 914 - 5 LED refractor

I also have my front and rear turns, but I am awaiting a hype flasher fix!

Head Lighting is by Nokya

H3 Hyper Yellow fogs (55w)

H7 Arctic Purple Low Beams (100)

Silver Star Highs

Silver Star Sliver/Blue - Amber front turns

So hope that answers some of the questions and I will get some pics up ASAP.

Thanks for the interest guys...

Have a good one.

Gunner out!

Thanks! A few more questions:

1. What is the product number and bulb count on the door step, map, and dome replacemnet lights?

2. Also, what bulb count did you use for the reverse lights? There's a 15 and 24 count.

Thanks!!!

I know the tails require 3 bulbs each ,just need to know the color and size and which one is the blinker. I tired looking thru the manual, just dont want to get the wrong color (lets says i got two sets or red 7440's instead one geting one amber and red.)

Hey guys...

I just took the whole thing appart, and re did everything...

I didn't like how the light was shining towards the outside of the plate, and not directly on it. I made new holes opposite the current ones, and it angled the lights directly on the plate.

Now JUST the plate is lit up, and it looks 10x better! Pics to follow most likely tomorrow afternoon. I'm at work right now, and just did this.

I HIGHLY suggest it!

if you want the LED's to spread light more and not project so much then you MUST sand down the round tip and make it flat. I used to have led's in my dash and gauges and with the bulb's being round (projected) tipped they did not spread evenlly however with them sanded so the tip is flat they were even spread.

That may help a little, but the real problem is that the mounting of the socket/bulb is angled away from the plate. A regular filament bulb radiates a lot of light to the side, where most LEDs don't. So, WRXGuyInVegas made new holes so that the mounting point is facing the plate.
