eamiller Posted May 31, 2006 Share Posted May 31, 2006 Does the whine change with engine speed or vehicle speed? If it's vehicle speed, then it's probably just the normal differential whine associated with Subarus. It should be worse under acceleration and fade into the background during cruising. 808subaru Posted June 1, 2006 Share Posted June 1, 2006 can i suggest that if you are getting on boost, it may just be your turbo spooling. In my wagon the turbo is rediculously loud, almost like a diesel truck or a bus. It drowns out the exhaust at some speeds. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My car whines so loud under heavy accel it almost sounds like a supercharger and not a turbo. Luckily, it'll soon have some major upgrades so I'll be able to hear that spool again!!
