Widebody

LowFast

Recommended Posts

Don't get me wrong, I love our legacy but the overall shape is a bit femimine. It is very tall for how wide it is, anyone know of widebody kits/ fender flares (tastefull), not that I have the cash but would love to see some pics. It looks meaner with some 'hips' This one is not too bad.

I don't care for the bumper or other parts, really the fenderflare are its saving grace. I know this is an older pic but still looks good. Wonder what it would set you back to have a shop custom build ther flares on the standard legacy body? I know it is audiesque but audis are nice looking cars, so that is not a negative. The real benifit would be the ability to run a wide rim with a real lip.

Not sure how to get pic to actually post in thread

friend of mine does fender flaring on the side at $4000 for all 4 corners, and that doesnt include painting. But these are east coast pricing.. it's cheaper out in the west to do that kind of work.

Definitely not the chick, I could pick my teeth with that stick, eww.

I could see paying a couple of grand to have the custom work done, and then a nother g or two for the paint. That is years off for me, but nice to dream about what the legacy could be. Just like the photoshops of the 2 door legacy. Imagin a 2 door with the flares it would look like a baby Aston Martin, throw the 300+ hp sti engine in and you have a new, and much better, SVX.:icon_bigg

In case if anyone is interested, Stanza will have a re-engineered version of the fender flares. Same style, but in a more flexibe and sturdy material. Of course, at a better price too.

Here are pictures of the prototype. I apologize for the bad quality, I scanned it from their Catalogue. I am just waiting for them to finish the rear roof spoiler so I can try getting a group buy for both parts if anyone is interested.

Thanks,

J.

that's a JDM body kit for their Spec Bs (Corazon)... you can buy that from http://www.japanparts.com I think....

http://www.japanparts.com/images/ImageFromDB.php?base=1&no=516

$3000+ body kit:

"Become 30mm longer and 40mm wider. Unpainted. FRP front bumper, side step, rear bumper, door garnish, PP front wide fender, rear wide fender, emblem, and complete ornament. Shown picture's Legacy also installed lowering springs. It might need to cut mudguard. Use bond, both-sided adhesive tape, and vis to put on. "

The Corazon kit is nice except for the front bumper, makes it look like a VW. The Tanza may be an option depending on how well the integrate and how much width they add. Definitely not as slick as a true fabricated fender, but much cheaper I am sure. When the time comes I may hit up one of the area hotrod shops and see what they say, those guys can build almost anything from scratch. If they start with the stock sides and pie cut/ splice in extra material I am sure they could make some serious flares.

Those could be used as a starting point and them molded in, sanded and painted to make it look like a single piece. Not sure if they could be molded in with body filler without it cracking due to expansion difference between steel and plastic. They do add alittle muscle to the legacy though.
