devobuzz
Unfortuantely I live in NJ (USA) and this state requires a front license plate. All the dealer gave me was 2 screws for the front plate. Can I get a fitted license plate bracket or am I resigned to a simple license plate frame? BookemDano
We have the same problem in Washington State. I'd be interested a nice bracket, but I can't find one. Anyone know a source? Regards, Dan.
D-2.5-GT
the frame for the plate is just drilled into the bumper :( nothing special i would think you could put anything in its place if you could find something...
Limeydriver
Look on E-bay there are some nice chrome or black steel frames available for the Legacy. Ken S
I'm going to install my plates this weekend using this: http://store.yahoo.com/rodi/cru79150.html You can find them at any auto store. I figured it would be nicer than simply drilling the plates to the bumper. I also searched around quite a bit and couldn't find anything fancier.
Limey, It's the bracket that we are concerned about, not the frame. Frames are easy to come by; nice brakets or mounting plates are not. But thanks for the heads-up. The frames look nice. c_hunter
For my "bracket" I flipped the dealer's black plastic plate frame around so that it's behind the plate. It functions much the same as the bracket on my last car, basically just keeps the metal plate from rubbing on the bumper and stiffens up the assembly. red beast
the plain black plastic looks just fine.

Ken
I have this license plate holder on my WRX and Legacy. It's not fancy, but it does the job well...and it's cheap. :D To finish it off, I have a thin metal frame on top of the plate. Th3Franz
I'm not using a bracket or frame. I just have a front license plate cover, and I put a thin strip of foam between the license plate and the bumper. That should protect the bumper, I think. -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
chinchy
My brother's Acura TL has a bottom mounted license plate holder. I.e. you screw it in to somewhere on the bottom of the bumper or in the chassis or something, and it never even touches the front of the bumper. Then again, maybe it's an Acura only thing since the frame is angled to match the angular point on the bumper. Is there anything similar to this for the Legacy?
