PGT
no. 17" wheels are necessary for LGT sized brakes. You can run OBXT brakes though.

TSiWRX
^ Pix, please! Very interesting mod - and a novel way to approach the 16-inch "winter wheels" problem! <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family

Claw
Did you grind it in a perfect circle? If not, you may need to get your brakes balanced or you might feel some vibration.... Risky move, I say..
ilh
He didn't grind the rotor, just the caliper (which doesn't rotate). Does this weaken the caliper?!?
lookslikeanevo
^i too wonder if this would weakent he caliper, but good things for sunny socal, i dont really have to worry about "winter wheels" Current:MY05 SWP wagon - 253/290 UP, AEM CAI, Invidia Q300, tuned@yimisport OLD: MY06 GRP - 274/
PhilT
A bit of a risk to save a few bucks on rims and tires. Of all the things on the car I might mess with, the brakes would be the last on the list. Double Award Winning Legacy GT Wagon
EL PAALO
the casting lines are likely what he shaved off and basically just left over material from the manufacturing process ..........

PeterJMC
If anyone is planning on doing this mod to use 16 inchers... Make sure you don't have sticky weights on the wheel and you use lip weights! If you go sticky weights you may need to shave off more than 3mm from the caliper depending on where the weights are located. Or you could do the smarter thing and buy my stock wheels! Xenonk
that is quite a bit of trouble to fit in some 16" rims.. so where is the air suppose to escape from the vented rotors again? Keefe
