Jon in CT
This is a press release from http://www.prweb.com/releases/2006/3/prweb356500.htm. CarStereo.com Announces CES 2006 Competition Winners Alpine Takes Top Honors In Virtual Competition Between Mobile Electronics Manufacturers’ Demo Vehicles from CES 2006. Flint, MI (PRWEB) March 10, 2006 -- CarStereo.com's visitors handed a first place victory to Alpine in their CES 2006 Vehicle Competition. In this special edition of its Online Car Audio Competition (OCAC), CarStereo.com displayed the mobile electronics manufacturers' demo vehicles that they photographed on the show floor at CES in January. The site's members then voted on the vehicles, ranking them each 1 thru 10. The contest generated over 170,000 views of these vehicles and included some very unique 360 degree virtual tours of the cars' interiors. The photo galleries of these vehicles are still on display at http://www.CarStereo.com. The winning car from Alpine was their 2004 BMW 645. This incredible vehicle was created by installers Steve Brown and Gary Bell of Alpine of America, with help from Glenn Swackhamer of Alpine of Canada. A close second place goes to Metra Electronics for their 1994 Honda Civic. This unique vehicle was designed and created by Jeremy Carlson with Mike Brechue, Scott Palmieri, Chris Crisali, Frank Paolillo, Tom Reece, Zahid "Z" Siddiqi, and Brent McCall. A surprising third place goes to JL Audio for their "Clean Sweep" 2005 Subaru Legacy GT Wagon. "At first glance this car looked a bit out of place at CES with all the glamorous and extreme installation and design work", says Dan Morris of CarStereo.com. "But it's a great sounding car and the system takes up no space that you could use for passengers or cargo." This system was installed by Manville Smith, Gary Martin, Bill Hamze, Franklin Rodriguez. In addition to voting on the vehicles, CarStereo.com visitors were treated to a display of the top manufacturers' models from CES. These girls are also an important part of the show as they represent their brands. Lacy Awalt from dbDrive was overwhelmingly voted the Hottest Model at CES. Second place goes to AudioPipe's Nicole Hagman and third place goes to Michelle Anderson, model for Bassforms. Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to all the manufacturers and models for participating. CarStereo.com has over 40,000 members and over 1,200 active OCAC competitors. The OCAC allows car audio enthusiasts and professionals to compete online for trophies and prizes. At the same time, it showcases the car audio systems and the installers to millions of online visitors world-wide. Press Contact: Dan Morris Company Name: Online Connexions, Inc.
