Project84
I went to the Cincinnati Auto Expo recently (1 week ago actually) and I remember seeing something that was 2.5L powered w/ a painted red intake.... whats w/ the red? does it represent the next series of engines for the new cars? Project84
sorry, im coming from the world of V8 where there's only one item represented by the word "intake" but yeah, it was the intake MANIFOLD whatever it was on, it was stock. Probably was the WRX STi because I know i popped the hood on the LGT and it was plain Jane
PhilT
Now that I have my engine cover removed, I wonder how easy it would be to remove the intake manifold and paint it ? Double Award Winning Legacy GT Wagon
-TT-
the Red color of the Intake Manifold is basically aesthetic and more to denote the tuning from STI(Subaru Technica International) its been that way for all WRK STIs AFAIK
Riot
Instead of making a whole new thread, I thought I'd ask here... I was talking to a Subaru Tech the other day, and he insisted the WRX and STi intake manifold were the same. Could the WRX manifold be used for an STi swap in lieu of the red STi manifold? Project84
or just take the red manifold and have it acid dipped to remove the paint... why dont you like the red? I think its a great idea, IMO there's too much silver under the hood, the red sets it all apart nicely
