Brady
... I have over 21,000 miles on my LGT now, and I don't remember the last time I had any odors from the clutch or cats or whatever. My sister thought she smelled clutch over christmas when I valeted it for dinner with dad, but I couldn't detect it. I wonder if the smells are gone, or if I just don't notice anymore. ebpda9
that's why she smelled the clutch cause you vale'd it. Seriously if i were you i would try t oavoid having the car driven by the youngsters. they are the worst. I know, because i do work as a valet
Scooter
Same here - I'm approaching 19k miles and I haven't had the stinky smell in awhile. There's been a couple of times recently where I slipped the clutch (both accidentally and intentionally) and braced myself for the bad smell, but it never came. I did have it bad about four months ago after I got stuck in stop-and-creep traffic going up and around and up and around in a parking garage trying to get to a Redwings game. There just wasn't a way to drive there without feathering the clutch extensively. Seek first to understand, then to be understood. In other words: SEARCH before you post! Brady
I don't think the valet did anything. I seriously couldn't smell it. And the Valet was not some kid who brought me my car. And if he did slip it a bit, well, couldn't be worse than two times I can think of that I did myself.

Brady
So, out of curiosity, do any of us here realize that the Legacy is off the radar of even most Valets too? I mean, seriously, they get to valet MUCH nicer cars than our Legacies. I doubt they're getting excited about jumping in the seat of the subie, or clamouring for dibs to park our car. Maybe I just don't worry about stuff as much, but I've never had a problem valeting either of my subies.

I know that where I valeted, I was parking cars that were worth much, much more than Legacys.
Brady
Well, that's kind of my point. If I were a valet, I wouldn't care about a Legacy. Really, if you're parking M series BMW's, Porsches, Jags, S series Audis, AMG Benzes and such, why care about a Legacy? I did have ONE guy actually comment on the car and how much he'd like an STi or LGT, but that was the lone scenario when a Valet seemed to care at all about my car. I was actually more surprised than anything. Meh. Whatever. I'm just happy that my car doesn't smell funny anymore.

Brady
The establishments I'm thinking of that I've used Valet at are: Murrays, Ruths, Capital Grill, La Belle Vie, and Bellanotte. My car isn't usually one of the nicer cars waiting to be parked at these establishments.
