OCDetails
http://www.paintscratch.com is a good place to get touch up paint. You just give them your paint code and they give you the paint. Unless you go to a local shop that mixes the paint based on an actual sample from your car, then paintscratch.com is just as good as anybody else. Even if the paint is a perfect match, you will still be able to tell that you touched up unless you are airbrushing the area. _________________________________________ “Cleanliness becomes more important as godliness becomes more unlikely.” O C D E T A I L S . OCDetails
probably. However, unless you plan on sanding down a much larger area and airbrushing all three stages on, then a little touch up with the color coat is as good as you can hope to get. I wouldn't repaint a whole body panel that way, but it works for touch up. _________________________________________ “Cleanliness becomes more important as godliness becomes more unlikely.” O C D E T A I L S . PhilT
I got a tube of the SWP touch up from the local dealer, but when you apply it, it's almost clear, like it needs a base coat underneath. I think I'll end up going to get a professional job done in the spring, once they've stopped gritting the roads. OCDetails
From what I've experienced with touch up on my Legacy it seems that everything needs two coats to match properly. _________________________________________ “Cleanliness becomes more important as godliness becomes more unlikely.” O C D E T A I L S . G.T.Subie
I used paintscratch on my OBP, matched well but has that egg shell look under the clear coat. Its on the bottom of the bumper so its nit that noticable.Plus it was my first time spray painting a car I will moat likely do it over in the spring. OCDetails
You mean 'orange' peel and not 'egg shell', right? Either way, it is easy to avoid if you wetsand between layers. Give that a shot when you redo it and see if it helps. _________________________________________ “Cleanliness becomes more important as godliness becomes more unlikely.” O C D E T A I L S .
