You shoud hear the pump prime for a few sec then turn off. If you don't hear it prime, or it doesn't turn off.... something is wrong You can try and start the car without the IC, but it isn't going to run/idle well at all. Better off disconnecting the MAF and letting it try to idle/run in limp mode. But don't expect a smooth drive or anything.
