mwiener2
So my driver side burnt out last thursday. Whatever, it was covered under warranty. My passenger side burnt out tonight. So am I victim to Jose's dirty hands at the factory, or do I just drive my car way too much and I hit the lifetime of these bulbs? Gire
A good rule of thumb is to replace both even when only one burns out. Something about different draws on different aged lightbulbs causing problems and ultimately more burnouts.
mwiener2
I would have replaced both ( I know to do that) but it was replaced under warranty and we all know that warranty = as little as possible to get it going again My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
Gire
I figured that the dealer wouldn't swap both for you- even though you, I, and they all know it would be best and prevent them from seeing you again for the same darn issue in just a few short weeks... But dealers are too cheap to justify that kind of good sense. I don't think I'd make a trip to the dealer to replace headlights. For the 15 bucks a pair from teh local auto parts store and 5 minutes in their parking lot, it isn't worth it (for me).

mwiener2
if it was from me clearing the headlight and touching them, it would have gone out thousands of miles ago. yeah, rear wiper blade. apparently the ones from the parts store don't fit My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons

Gordon05GT
My passenger side headlight went out about 4-5 months ago and I replaced them both w/ silverstars. Well 2 days ago my driver side headlight went out. I'm like WTF is up?
mwiener2
even Sylvania says their silverstar line doesn't last long, so I'm not suprised to hear they blow frequently got the passenger side bulb replaced today under warranty. Dealer said they hand out bulbs like candy, but they havn't heard of or seen the new bulbs (different color on base) My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
