jc51373
Friend of mine at work just bought one of these today, let me take it out for a ride. I have only one thing to say: What an overpriced sled! Some nice refinement features, but the thing is sloooooooooooowwwww. 255 horse my ass! Felt like two mices under the hood. Made me glad I have my Subie.

wukindada
Drove a 330i with the sport package...6mt felt like a 6 sec flat car to 60. If I really thrashed the car I am sure you can break into the 5's. Sorry.... I would NEVER abuse a buddys 06 BMW with less than 4k.**slipped the clutch & 2500rpm** Gearbox is awesome....steeering is to die for...handling...It's a BMW:)*****BMW makes the best OEM seats in the world***** For the $$ though you are right...def. overpriced Toyota 6EATS .........SUCK!!!!!! Second gear starts I think in regular tranny mode. Probably for mileage??? Not sure...I used the sport mode, a little more zip, but no pull like the Subie. Granted I am stage 1, but it felt like the power was sapped. I know my car would eat this thing for lunch. I will say though the refinement was nice, seats especially. 8-way power seats. I could literally raise the seat so I could see out of the sunroof. Blinkers were nice, just tap em and they work. Dash was a little silly, straight up and down, felt like a Ford, didn't flow nicely with the car. Cup holders were interesting, they pop out just above the glove compartment, it is like you are being served, kinda nice. Road noise was nothing special, but I didn't get it out on the highway. But I didn't notice it being ANY quieter than my Subie. For the money I would not buy this car. Too many idiots, who know NOTHING about cars own em, too common, and no horse, or torque. Makes me feel like I spent my money well.

tsyGT
The BMW autos are pretty smooth so even though it doesn't seem like the acceleration is strong, they can be deceptively fast. It's just more progressive and not as exciting as a Turbo kicking in. Boring interior (they use vinyl unless you opt for leather). I-Drive is miserable. Service is expensive. Well built though. It's a touring sedan and a good one, nice steering (if you avoid the variable power steering) and handling and good feeling brakes. It's just not a blast to drive like our GTs, and much more expensive. Different audience, that's all. It's still a nice car. Especially when the M3 version comes out. tom

PeterJMC
The only thing that I like about the 330 are the nice comfy seats and the bluetooth intergration. The Legacy rules the rest.

rfd425
I'd personally rather have an LGT, plus three or four grand for mods, than a 330xi. However, I am happily married. If I were still single and chasing tail, the BMW would probably be more effective for attracting...you know what.

Jedi Pimp
Not only that the kind of women that are attracted to a guy driving a 330 probably are looking for certain financial subsidies from you. A Mini Cooper probably would be a better choice in that case.
jc51373
let your friend test drive your stg1 wagon and see what he says. I should...It is a woman though, and they can't drive or appreciate cars for anything other than a name. She got the BMW to be checked out. Overpaid in my book. Car is nice don't get me wrong, just so boring and not fun to drive.
OCDetails
I considered the 330xi when I bought my Legacy. I'm glad I didn't get it. It isn't worth 10 grand more just so I can have comfy seats. _________________________________________ “Cleanliness becomes more important as godliness becomes more unlikely.” O C D E T A I L S . jc51373
We considered it too. But my wife doesn't like to be flashy, so we didn't spend much time on them, not to mention they are over-priced. It's funny, all week I have been driving our second car (2000 Honda Accord), and last night I went to fill up the Legacy. I gotta tell ya, after driving that BMW and being in my slug Accord all week, I really appreciate how Effin fast this Subie is. BMW's are for chumps. rfd425
One must be seriously lacking the confidence area if one requires a certain branded car to attract females. "Requires" isn't the right word. It's just that when I had my A4, I got a lot of unsolicited attention from girls/women who associated it with money. I was already with my wife then anyway, so it didn't matter to me, but I get no such attention with the Suby. I'm sure the BMW is even more of a p***y magnet than the A4. Hell, people wear expensive clothes, jewelry, makeup, etc. partly to attract the opposite sex. It's no different with cars, although I never bought a car for that reason.
