nj woman
Guy from Nasioc told me to make my front tires 2-3 # more for better mileage in an AWD Legacy. Thoughts from you experienced Legacy people? I've heard of keeping your correct pressure for better mileage but not uneven.
rao
The higher pressure the lower the traction available (the contact patch is theoretically smaller) and the lower the rolling resistance. In the real world, it is doubtful that making that change would cause a noticeable increase iin fuel economy. starlabs
Dunno about the mileage part, but if you note your "official" tire pressure specs for your car, you'll notice that the recommend psi for the front tires are higher than for your rear tires. Probably to offset the weight of the engine I believe. -=- Livin life at 140 BPM -=-
SC GT
Higher tire pressure will improve your rolling resistance and therefore MPG. Consider how much easier a car rolls on overinflated tires than on underpressurized tires. A 2-3# increase might not make a noticeable difference, but, theoretically it should make a difference. vet
Higher psi in the front should reduce understeer somewhat - that's a good thing for spiritied driving
