I love it up there. My grandparents used to have a house on Pine St. My mom just sold it last summer. If I had the $$$ I would have bought the house and rented it out.

My aunt works at UVM. She's in charge of admissions for the dorms. (not sure what her title is)

I'm about a mile from Vermont! My school is also one of two interstate high schools in the country (Norwich, VT and Hanover, NH), so I'm quite acustomed to the state. Most of my friends are on the other side of the river.

I know tons of subaru owners on the vermont side, though most of them have foresters or older outbacks, and care more about their saabs it seems.

I am from Vt, just displaced ;)

Born and raised there, moved down to mass in 01 after graduating from groovy uvy, then followed the (now) wife to graduate school, and now we're stuck down here.

I love Vt, but they need to do something about the saleries to actully keep people up there. Only maybe IDX and IBM could touch what I make in mass, and my cost of living is about the same as it was in Burlington.

Whats up with that town trying to leave Vermont and become its own state or part of NH ?
Long story...

Cliffs: Town is paying way too much in education taxes and isnt seeing much of it due to a VT law, so to lower taxes for the town they want to secede to NH

It's Killington (Formerlly Sherburn, but that's another politics trip), the ski capitol of the North East (or at least in Les Otten's head)

Aczwild: Grew up just north of Rutland, went to school in Burlington (UVM)

Rutland hunh, I'm from Middlebury. I dont know when the last time was that you've been back, but damn its starting to get bad down there. I absolutely hate having to drive through there and I swear everytime I go I see at least 2 fender benders happen.

North of Rutvegas, Pittsford, went to Otter Valley (yikes) .

Ya, I sorta go through rutland like it's an autoX course, and the cones are moving.

Half the time if I get board I head out to West Rutland and take the dirt roads through florence home. :D

PS, you think he knows he is?

Pittsford is a good town, used to have the best bakery, but now its closed. I hear you with Otter Valley, but my best friend's dad is the principal there (Jim Avery) so I wont say much about that
