rfd425
I like these rims, and I really like the light weight (17.5 lbs. for 18x7.5), but I don't know if I can get past the dorky blue printing all over the wheel. Why the hell would they do that?!?! My car's Atlantic Blue, so at least it's something close to a match in color, but still... What do you guys think of these? What solutions are there to getting rid of the blue crap on the wheels? http://www.tirerack.com/images/wheels/gramlights/swap/gramlights_57c_s_ci3_l.jpg Appearance may vary by size and application. rfd425
I could live with it on the spoke, since it kinda matches my car's color, but the stuff on the lip...http://www.clicksmilies.com/s0105/wuerg/vomit-smiley-007.gif I don't know if I could live with the bronze color or not, although they are much more tastefully done. I'd have to see them in person. The gold is definitely not my style.
nKoan
I have them as my track/auto-x wheels at the moment. I really like them. They don't have the blue stuff on mine though. They didn't come with it. If they are anything like mine (which still has the logo on the wheels), the blue stuff is probably just a sticker, and you should be able to peel it off and use some goo-gone to get rid of it completely (thats just a guess)

axis008
I believe the stuff around it only come when you get the wheels in the silver color.. Do like the wheels though! I prefer bronze, but I'm not sure how that would look on ABP. -ben

rfd425
i'd get rota actions instead of spending so much on the gram lights Not a bad suggestion, but it appears that they only come in 17" size. I think I'm going to want to get 18's. Also, the Rotas seem to be a little heavier than the Gram Lights, which are only 17.5 lbs. in the 18" size. At $298/wheel, the Gram Lights are not cheap, but they are not too far in the stratosphere pricewise.
msmith
The T57RC is considerably more subtle... and still light. There is some subtle gray printing inside the spokes on the inner surface of the wheel. http://img161.imageshack.us/img161/5062/driverwheelsmall4qs.jpg http://img161.imageshack.us/my.php?image=legacyflt9ay.jpg

The Pros mentioned above are not only more expensive, but also 4.5 lbs. heavier per wheel according to Tirerack.

rfd425
yes, it's a sticker, you can peel them off. That's good news! If it was permanent, that might have been a deal breaker. How do the 57C's and the Pros compare? Are the 57C's reasonably strong? And I thought two piece wheels were generally supposed to be lighter than one piece wheels. And I thought two piece wheels were generally supposed to be lighter than one piece wheels. -57c is lighter, but it's just a one-piece design.. kinda weak for city driving. -Pro is also cast as well, so you're not saving weight anymore. The hoop/barrel portion of the Pro has a lot more mass than the C version, so there's your weight.. it seemed to be a stronger wheel as well. -With today's technology, 2-piece construction will have to deal with either welding or riveting the hoop and spoke section together. The material used for these construction will already add weigh to the wheel. A one-piece design skips all of this and they have a uniformed piece of metal alloy throughout. What you might be thinking is when a 2-piece rim (or 3 for that matter) is made out of the different metals for each section (such as Magnesium for the spokes and aluminum hoops for the other two pieces) which will be lighter than a constant uniformed rim made of just aluminum alloy. Hope that makes sense. Keefe

Here's what Matt at GMP Performance wrote to answer your questions; "As long as the (LGT.com) customers let me know where they came from, I would do $399 each for wheel and center cap." I do appreciate that, although that's $100 more per wheel than Tirerack's price on the 57C's. Frankly, for me, even $300/wheel is a stretch; if I don't go with the 57C's, I'll probably get Kazera KZ-B's. Thanks though, Matt, for the offer which I am sure is very fair.
