Jacket4256
Hey guys I am new to the car audio stuff , and I really dont know a whole lot about n-e of it at all. I am looking to put 3 10" MTX Audio 600 in my LGT and I am looking for a amp for it I have found this one http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=1172153 here. I just dont really understand the channel thing. My subs have one plug in for power is that like one channel??? Can anyone explain this to me or put me in the right direction. Thanks
Boulderguy
Yes, that's like one channel. Each speaker input = 1 channel. That amp has 2 speaker outputs = 2 channel (stereo). First thing to know is what the impedance of your MTX box is - look for ? ohms. Probably 4, maybe 2. Then I'd find a D-class amp that operates in mono, that is has only one channel of output, since that's all you need, and is capable of driving x# of ohms. A D-class will give you more bang for your buck here. Look for mono amps, sub amps or class D amps.

aldouse
http://www.cardomain.com/item/ROCCP2POS?ref=frog sells everywhere for 99.99. fyi, manufacturer's "cost" is about $45 for the kit. i doubt you'd find anyone for selling it around that price though. bumping 3 MTX subs? http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_techspecs_full.php/masterid=3787394 use that amp! =D very very nice.... way too much $$$ however. -- yay for the sig! -- my garage! aldouse
good choice. 2-4 guage should do u fine. -- yay for the sig! -- my garage!
Boulderguy
Your first amp choice would have been fine with 8 awg. The Kenwood, if it's a true 1100w, will need 2 guage. Look on Ebay for a much better deal for new amp kits, or go to PartsExpress.com & order all the pieces even cheaper.

A good, cheap amp, is an MBQuart RAA1000. 250W x @ 4ohms, 500x1 @2ohms and 1000wx1@1ohm. Going rate is about $200 on eBay
Boulderguy
Are you sure you want 1000w of bass power? Is the rest of the system amped? Just trying to add some thump to your ride? Check the Alphasonik amps, mono, class D on Ebay. Alphasonik PMA800DA or Alphasonik PMA1000DA HIFONICS TX1005D Just don't get Audiobahn anything.
