dan_m
my car has suddenly started to flash my hazards for no apparent reason ( green arrows sporatically light up like magic above my tacho/speedometre ). They just flash a couple of times every 5 mins or so...sometimes shorter...very weird. I also have 'Er SP' displayed above my odometre reading while driving and 'Acc' is displayed on my clock display prior to starting the car. I called my dealer who's getting in touch with SOC but he's never seen anything like it before. The car is bone stock. Anyone know what could be going on? thx. sandwood
I'm willing to bet you have a faulty ground somewhere. It will take the dealer quite a while to diagnose and correct it. I had a similar problem once. Start them looking at the CAN, body integration unit/module. Eventually diagnosed as a bad ground and fixed. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23965 Good luck! getting out of the legacy game
dan_m
it looks like it was the CAN, tech guy pulled out the wiring harness that linked to the tire pressure sensor and everything seems back to normal in the cabin ( at least in 1/2 hr of driving ), this was SOC's first recommendation and seems to have worked fine, now I'm driving without tire pressure monitoring....don't think it's a big deal ( I hope ). Tech guy said the part was superfluous anyways (?)
PhilT
Well it may be superfluous, but you paid for it, so it should work. I would ask them to fix it. Double Award Winning Legacy GT Wagon
Limeydriver
I don't believe the 05 LGT has tire monitoring. It was only on the LL Bean VDC and 3.0R sedan. The connector is there and is known to be a problem. There is a TSB about it. http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5827
dan_m
thx Limeydriver... that is EXACTLY the fix I got and the correct TSB matchup to the car's original problem... whoa (!)
mwiener2
It can be added as a dealer option to any 05+ Legacy or OB My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
dmw
Thanks . . is CAN "car integration network"? Is there a central location or node for this? would like to avoid the garlic. . .
firedawgs
Yeah the 05' GT doesn't have the tire pressure monitor. I had the same problem in my 05LGT back in June of 2004 when I bought it. The dealer had my car for 8 days and could not find the problem. The problem went away for about 6 months, then one day it came on for a day. I have not seen it again since. I look at it as if it does not presist then don't worry about it. Updated my vBGarage:
