KTM 525
Just putting a feeler out. Any others like me out there that want to clear the headlights but are afraid to do the deed? Trying to work something out with a core exchange. Basically you get a set of cleared Legacy headlights done at a professional shop and send in yours (provided they are in good shape). would coming in at the 100 dollar mark with shipping generate any interest here?? lookslikeanevo
im actually thinking of becoming a vendor and this being my product, with enough interest, i can start as early as this weekend...or when i get the new headlights in...but depending on demand, sevice like this usually runs 150$ and you cover the shipping to send the headlights back Current:MY05 SWP wagon - 253/290 UP, AEM CAI, Invidia Q300, tuned@yimisport OLD: MY06 GRP - 274/
Brady
While a good concept, this is a horrible idea. Too many items damaged in shipping for this to work well. Take it from someone who ships 60+ packages a day of steel power transmission components. That's stuff that isn't "easy" to damage, yet they still manage to do so quite frequently. Headlights don't even stand a chance.

MUD
If you're scared of doing the work, don't do it to the LGTs headlights till you're comfy with it. Go to a local junkyard and pick up a Civic or Accord headlight assembly for next to nothing and give it a shot. You'll see that it's not that difficult. scans007
The hard part you'll still have to do though, which is take your bumper off, and get the headlight out.....bake'n is the easy part..... I was scared the first time I did it, after you get past the initial fright of bake'n them, and pry'n them apart it's as easy as pie...... If anyone is in my area...give me a buzz when your bumpers off and headlights are out, I'll come over and show ya the rest Or IM me and I'll walk ya through it... Kaptan
Yeah, this is something that is very easy to do on your own. IMO, not worth paying someone else to do.
rallispec
see if you can get together with somebody local to you to give you a hand at it.. we cleared about 5 sets of lights at the last meet here a few weeks ago...

Vahkil
I'm not sure I understand the OP's wording. Are you saying that the headlights sent to me are not going to be my own?

MUD
Scans: I had the same problems with my Accord. Before I could get nervous about the headlight walk.... I had to remove the head lights, which was a PIA, cause the bumper had to be removed. 4-6 of the plastic screws holding the front facsia in place were right under the head lights! Couldn't get the headlights out... caust the bumper was still there! It was a contradiction in terms! rallispec
i actually think that the bumper and headlight removal is the easier part --- opening the headlights up was the time consuming pain in the ass part.. (I've used the heat gun rather than oven though.. which probably accounts for that added work)
lookslikeanevo
I'm not sure I understand the OP's wording. Are you saying that the headlights sent to me are not going to be my own? no not usually it s a core exchange, so that there is basically no down time, here how it would go: you would pay 100 plus a core charge i ship headlights already cleared and blacked out you recieve headlights and install you ship you old headlights back to me i send you back the core chrage amount and that would go on until everyone is satisfied....
