bserebin
Hello All, I'm about to make the jump to the AVIC-N2 (yes I know about the Z1, but it requires the same module), and had a question about the Pioneer iPod module CD-IB100. I've read that there are some issues with it such as song titles longer than 16 characters are not displayed, and a few other issues. Anyone have the AVIC-N2 and iPod module and can comment? Do you like it, any issues..... Thanks, -Ben
bmorrisj
that ipod adapter was pretty much made for the AVH-P series in-dash unit.... on any other DEH-P/AVIC radio with a bus connector it works less than stellar.... long story short goto function 3 then hold the selector up or down....that turns scroll on... bserebin
Hello, So, in the end, are you happy with the iPod connector, or not? Would you buy it again? Thanks for the tip on scrolling, -Ben

Koby
The reviews I have read were simply dreadful, everyone hated it. Normally I'd say formulate your own opinion, but these were not lukewarm review, they were 2/5 type reviews. From what I gathered the module does it's own intrepretation of the ipod so there is a long delay as you scroll through the lists of songs, and the more files you have the longer it takes. I also think I read that the N1/N2 do not allow for direct control with functions like play pause << >>. I believe I read this on amazon, but I'm not sure. I think your best bet would to hook up a simply rca --> 1/8" jack and use the device's interface.
agctr
Hmm interesting. So if not this system, any other recommendations. Ada///M.
bserebin
Hello Koby, Thanks for posting that source, I read the same thing. I was hoping to get some more feedback too. In the end, I might just do the RCA cable and car adapter to charge it. Thanks, -Ben
Architeuthis
I just got the ib100 and am less than satisfied. The interface is not user friendly, very few functions seem available. Only 8 characters are displayed (at the top of the screen) despite the size of the LCD. I was searching for an audiobook and had to track forward one by one until I found it. At this point, I don't even know how to search/"fast forward." I've read that a soultion is to create playlists to ease the process. The IB100 looks great on other Pioneer models and seems to better replicate all the ipod controls. Bottom line: Not worth the $ I made a good mp3 cd last night which is way better in terms of UI. The N2, on the other hand, IS worth the money.
