I've been dealing with and searching off and on for answers about this for years. Anytime I search for the problem I get results for the AT even when I specify 5MT.  At times it feels like I have a locker/limited slip diff in the front and rear. It does not happen all of the time. It does happen in tight turns but it also will happen under power up a grade with an "S" turn. It also will happen on a downgrade moderate L turn I go through every night on my way home from work. On the downgrade if I disengage the clutch it stops. The steering will get stiff like the wheels are locked. If the roads are slippery (snow) when I pull out from a stop turning onto another road it feels like the rear is pushing the car straight till I back off the throttle. The info I can find on the center diif doesn't seem to be the same symptoms. Many posts suggest putting a fuse in to put the car in FWD mode to check but to the best of my knowledge this is not possible in my car. Tires are all the same and in good condition. Fluids have been changed. I'm the original owner and have taken good care of it. Any thoughts?

Unless they drastically changed the transmission setup on the 2009 vs. other years, you should definitely be able to go into FWD mode for diagnosis.

I do not know that 100%, but my '05 has a place to disengage the RWD. I forget why I used it, but some reason or the next. Double check the fuse box in the engine bay to confirm that it is not an option.

Edit: You are correct. Manuals do not have a computer controlled centre differential, so electronics will modify how if works. Bummer, and it won't make things easier to diagnose.

Not the end of the world, but more data leads to better conclusions.

Symptoms do sound a little like a failing centre diff, but then again that is also often bind and noise while doing tight turns.....
