Hello all and happy holidays!

I have a 2015 Limited with the 18" rims and it seems that I have corrosion on my rims that is leading to a tire leak and I'm trying to figure out the most cost effective way to go about this issue.

Currently only one of the tires seems to have the issues but I wouldn't be surprised if others will have the same issue soon as the visible corrosion on the outside of the rims seems to be pretty consistent from wheel to wheel. My current tires are also down to about 5/32" so I will need new tires sooner than later as well. This bums me out as I actually really like the stock rims on my model but after getting prices on refinishing them it just doesn't seem cost effective.

I also don't know how much longer I will have the car as I think I would like something with some more cargo room or something I can atleast put a hitch on. So that being said ideally I'd like to find a used set of rims and tires to put on the car but ideally I would like some confirmation on how to know for sure I'd be buying a compatible rim and tire size or at the very least a tire size that would give a decent ride. I know I need the5x114.30 (5x4.5) bolt pattern but the offset stuff, etc makes my head spin a bit. I currently have 225/50/18 tires and believe the stock rims are 18x7.5. Any reason to not buy rims off a different make of vehicle? I obviously don't love the idea of having a different make center wheel cap but I'm guessing I could probably even swap those out for alteast a blank or similar?

Does anyone have any recommendations on any rim/tire combo sizes?

Thanks in advance!

The offset is important for the suspension to work as designed. Changing it can wear other parts. However, Outbacks and WRXs have the same offset, probably Imprezas do too. Since you’re buying tires too you could use 17” wheels. I use these for my winter tires as they’re better with our winter potholes.

Hi Fred,

thanks for the information on the offset, is the stock offset +40?

I did ponder putting on some 17" wheels but I just thought I might be disappointed in the change in the look of the car but maybe that's not something that would be as noticeable as I'd think. The WRX's definitely have some good looking rims, so it's definitely something to consider!

The stock offset is +55. My tire size for my 17" wheels is 225/55, so a bit more rubber around the wheel.
