Mattss Posted November 29 Posted November 29 I got a wagon that shuts off on me at lights or very low speed and when I turn it on the at oil light flashes at me not all the time but it has Done it , it also goes into limp mode while drive for a few seconds then goes back to normal I have a check engine light for tcm and mass air flow but it comes and goes any recs? I’ve located the tcm but not the ground to it I’ve read rusty grounds can cause these issues car is from Kansas with a decent amount of rust on it 1
doublechaz Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Yes, I would start with finding the major grounds, disconnecting them, some wire brush scrubbing all the surfaces, and then back together. There will be one from the intake to a strut tower. There will be one from, if I remember right, the right side of the transmission to somewhere, but mine is a manual, so yours may differ. There will be one from the engine block and probably one from the heads. There is, of course the one from the battery to the body. And the connections on the battery itself, but those probably aren't it as they will have been touched and cleaned a few times over the life of the car. The others have probably never been touched. Do you have a pdf of the Factory Service Manual? That will have nice sketches in it showing these things.
