crex
does the ap stage 1 or 2 fix it...?
hondas123
I don't have the Stutter problem (still stock), but from what I've read on the forum people that went to AP Stage 1, the stuttering problem was significantly better if not fixed. - The Mortgage Man
legacy_y_tu
I don't have it anymore either, and when I did mine was extremely subtle. I replaced the up-pipe and it's completely gone now. Might have helped or the ecu might have just tuned around the stutter <shrug>. Anyway to me it certainly wasn't enough to make me regret buying the car' The 06's have re-mapped ECU's to resolve this. Also the AP seems to remove the stutter; however some have reported that it returned after a short while.
fweasel
My 06 had it, but not to the degree that some 05 owners described. At 1,200mi I installed an AP stageI and its gone completely. Only time will tell if it returns... ignore him, he'll go away.
bugblatterbeast
stage 1, 93 octane map + an uppipe fixed it on my car. the 91 octane map fixed it for a little while but the problem came back (mildly) after ~1000km.
laz
This makes me wonder if the people that suffer from bad stutter only have 91 Octane gas available to them? I know recently they filled up my tank with 87 and I have to compesate by filling up half the tank with 93. This averaged me to around 91 Octane, and the car did seem a little sluggish, maybe even stuttering? But I always use 93, and I have never really noticed until I was running lower octane gas. bugblatterbeast
is there lots of etOH in US gas? the 94 octane fuel we have available here is over 10% oxgenate while the lower octane fuel is usually around 5%. if I use 91 octane and spike the fuel with toluene to get 93 octane the car gets lumpy. I'm not sure if its because of the lack of volatility from the toluene or the increase in fuel density.
EJ255_alan
the shutter you gengs talking about ...was it turbo lag ya'll mean?? well....mine is a stocker...was experience the same thing when running with castrol GTX 5W30 engine oil when breaking in....but now get feels like the lag had gone after I switch to elf LDX 5W40..so to me I believe oil velocity does make certain effect on the problem to me the type of gasoline I use don't make the shutter problem any different..I used between oct91 and
pflo
mine is gone after ECU replaced for cooling fan problem. around the same time i switched to mobil1.
eles1
The stutter has not been resolved and stage 1 alone will not completely eliminate it. I've not yet tried stage 2 or stage 1 + catless UP, so I can't comment on those potential solutions.
eles1
mine is gone after ECU replaced for cooling fan problem. around the same time i switched to mobil1. I've run mobil 1 in mine since 1k miles (has 20k now). If your stutter is gone, it's likely the new ECU, but it will also likely return after a few hundred miles. Mine goes away everytime I reset the ECU, but it always comes back
