Phosoup253
Was able to salvage the heads off of a donor motor that failed at 30k and was hoping I can also re use some of the oiling components. After tear down I’m positive the motor failed due to ringland failure on cylinder 4. My initial assumption was HG failure after draining the oil and inspecting the pan, no metal flakes. All bearings has little to no scores, lobe looks fresh, cylinder walls are all fine including cyl 4. I get its cheap assurance but these things can add up quick. 4 avcs cam gears, oil pump, oil cooler and I’ve heard even the solenoids needs replacing or even a good cleaning? I’ll attach some pictures. IMG_3644.mov Edited August 25 by Phosoup253

rhino6303
It'd always best practice to replace, but that block is clean. No shavings in pan? That means no shavings in system. I'd run components from thay block in a pinch.
Max Capacity
You can run some cleaning fluid through the pump and oil cooler. I used Acetone in my cooler but did get a new pump, but my engine had 154,000 miles. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Engine Build - Click Here
kzr750r1
Run the cooler and cam gears... But replace the Oil Pump and the AVCS. Get the cylinders bored and honed to the next piston size up. Deck the heads and make sure the case is square as well. Depending on miles you may need your heads refreshed as well. For sure at minimum replace the valve guide seals.
