JohnyB22
i know everytime a suby owner takes his/her ride to the snow they post something about it. well heres mine, i took my wagon to MT. Hood in Oregon yesterday. loved every damn second of it. i think i spent more time playing with my suby in the snow than i did riding the mountain on my snowboard. way more control than my last front wheel drive 98 Jetta. and i even had the stock tires on, although i did need chains on the way up but i took them off once i found a nice empty parking lot to play in. unfortunately it is a very expsensive sled. for all those who encounter snow this year.....keep your suby safe! And you don't need snow tires either. (or at least good all seasons with a good snow emphasis) Always best to have the proper footgear.
LittleBlueGT
I think maybe the uneven traction of one axle on chains is to be avoided. It might cause the center diff to overheat and wear prematurely. Putting chains on all 4 should work. P06781
I put studless snows on mine ...hankook w300's. You really dont need chains going up to goverment camp by Mt Hood but the state police sometimes require it. Right now with all the xmas break people off and going up the road packs into pure ice. Its hard here because you start above freezing and go thru the rain-snow transition where it can get kinda tricky. Its fine again once its all snow at the top. silverfool
i know lots o people are concerned about uneven traction on the differential but the manual does say you can use chains on the front. realizing that the manual is not all-knowing text, are those whom are in the know really against using them?
