G.T.Subie
I was thinking of keeping stock 17 size because of the city driving I do , potholes etc. Not sure of the weight have to find out. Denial is your best friend
NHLEG
I was interested in Wheel Max as well until I called. I was interested in the silver Exel TZ-10 18x7.5 http://www.wheelmax.com/package_list.asp?page=1 They were something like 26 or 28 lbs. $129/ wheel is an awesome price, but weighed too much. G.T.Subie
Can a heavier rim actually do any harm to the car or diminish the handling ? Or just slow it daown a little. Also what is average weight of wheels. Denial is your best friend
itsme
all of the wheels on that site are heavy. I found out our stock wheels are about 20 or 21LBS. I wanted something lighter. I found out rota subzero 18x 7.5 are only about 18lbs. I had rota tarmacs on my '04 WRX and they were great. I have a set of TZ-10s at home and they are not that heavy.. someone is giving you the wrong info.. they are like 19 to 20 lbs for 18x7.5. http://www.rapidimagephotography.com/gallery/albums/Keefe/IMG_0108.jpg http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19678 Wheelmax doesnt know squat, they only want to sell you the rims. Also what is average weight of wheels. it will and can.. with a heavier wheel, the car feels dead slow starting from a light.. for 17x7.5" wide rim, 17 lbs is the goal to aim for.. for 17x8 wide rim, staying under 17.5 lbs is a good goal to aim for.. stock wheels are 17x7 and weigh about 21 lbs or so.. so anything lighter is better.. jc51373
They are nice, but that Titanium look is not for me. I feel like the wheels look they always have brake dust on them...Otherwise they look like a nice pattern for a Subie.

Even though I know you are, I still have to ask. Are you sure about the weight? I REALLY wanted those wheels until I called them and I'm sure the guy said something like 26 or 28 lbs. Could they really be that clueless? The guy sounded very sure about his answer. It wasn't a "about xx lbs", it was, "The TZ-10's weigh xx lbs each". Thanks. It wasn't a "about xx lbs", it was, "The TZ-10's weigh xx lbs each". Thanks. do you want me to take a pick of the rim and tire on the scale for ya? hahahaha Yes, they are indeed THAT clueless, they just do it under the assumption of average shipping weight (commercial account of course) of an 18" rim with tire is 50 lbs.. (25 for the rim and 25 for the tire)... let's put it in a better perspective.. I'll try to weigh the rim and tire sometime soon.. the current tire on the rim is a Kumho 712 @ 225/40/18 (which are 23 lbs by TireRack's specs)... last time I checked, the rim and tire weighed in at like 45 lbs +/- 1 lbs.. Wheelmax must be stupid to quote 26 to 28 lbs.. that would make it anywhere from 49 to 51 lbs for shipping weight.. That's just silly. I just got a PM back from racecomp engineering about the Pff-7 wheel from Prodrive...the guy quoted the wheel as being 26lbs, and when I saw that I just about died, but I followed up with a guy at the shop, who weighed it for me, and it came out to just over 20lbs... Xenonk
PPF7s in 18x8 is like 19.5 lbs.. they are built the same as my SSR GT7s Rims like my old ADR VersionII wheels were heavy for 18x.7.5 @ 25 lbs.. and that's HEAVY.. I can't imagine any other rim heavier than those.. (btw, they were strong as hell though).http://www.wheelmax.com/Wheels/ADR/v2.gif I ran them without the center caps:http://www.salazar-racing.com/images/SUMMIT-KQLweb.jpghttp://www.speedoptions.com/members/38458/27877/pic123.jpghttp://www.speedoptions.com/members/38458/27877/pic104.jpg Keefe

dan_m
I really the OZ Ultraleggera at 16.9 lbs 17x8 http://www.pbase.com/image/54155672.jpg but I'm a bit worried about their strength, especially in the pothole infested area that I live... I know they're gonna take a serious beating ... it will and can.. with a heavier wheel, the car feels dead slow starting from a light.. for 17x7.5" wide rim, 17 lbs is the goal to aim for.. for 17x8 wide rim, staying under 17.5 lbs is a good goal to aim for.. stock wheels are 17x7 and weigh about 21 lbs or so.. so anything lighter is better.. Xenonk
^ you think that's bad? I run around town sometimes with my SSR Comps (12.5 lbs @ 17x7.5 and 15 lbs @ 18x8.5).. and I live near DC, land of manholes and potholes that eat cars for a living.
