rfd425
There are enough unsold Spec B's around that you ought to be able to buy one for invoice without too much trouble. If you're willing to wait a few months, you might be able to get it even cheaper. There may only be 500 Spec B's, but unfortunately for SOA, there seem to be considerably less than 500 Spec B buyers (at least at the prices dealers are currently asking). This may not be good news to the people who paid MSRP and thought they got a great deal because the dealer came down from $4,000 over MSRP, but it's good news for potential Spec B buyers who have remained patient. rfd425
I wonder if this is region specific, as some have said that Spec-Bs were either pre-sold or sold within a day or two on the lot, while others have languished since arrival. My guess is that there were a few people (but nowhere near 500) who were eagerly anticipating this car, and who felt that MSRP or slightly more was a reasonable price to pay for the limited edition model. They may have wanted to be among the first to have one, or they may have been afraid they would miss out. Considering how underwhelmed most of the Legacy enthusiasts on this board were by the standard equipment on the Spec B, and considering that new '06 LGT's can be easily bought for $1,000 under invoice, it was always hard for me to see how SOA was going to sell 500 Spec B's for MSRP. A few, sure, but not anywhere close to the full run. This is the same situation Audi went through with the original '92 S4. There were relatively few of them imported, and dealers were initially asking huge premiums over MSRP. By the end of the model year, many remained unsold. neelnug
The one here in newtown square is still sitting in the showroom. No markup that I could see. They are also leasing tribecas for nothing.....
melayout
I also think for someone who is not initiated into the cult of the legacy and would not care about the exclusivity issue, the content in the spec.B vs. what is offered in a GT limited may not seem worth it. Not that they should, but 90% of subaru buyers wouldnt know Billstein if it bit them in the ass. Haha, all I thought of was "Is that a German granola bar?" Spec B 127
I just got my Spec B over the weekend. The dealer in Carson City, NV had 3 of them sitting on the lot for two months. That fact helped out alot with my price negotiation. I ended up getting it for $1500 over invoice (about $33,500), when they were originally asking $4000 over MSRP (about $39,500). So I don't think I did too bad.

Too bad you didn't investigate this site more thoroughly before you bought, because one of our official vendors, Grayson Subaru, is selling theirs for $200 under invoice. I'm sure he could have even shipped it to you and saved you some money. I guess I understand the reason for the big markups over MSRP now. It makes $1,500 over invoice seem like a great deal. Congratulations on the car, though. It's a great car, and you did better on the deal than a lot of people.
Spec B 127
I love the car. If I had the time or had found this site sooner, I might have done that, but no regrets whatsoever. I am really glad I bought that over the Mazdaspeed 6 and Lancer Evo MR. For the price, I love all of the features that it has. And, now, on to modding...... GraysonSubaru
You should be able to find one pretty cheap at a dealership...unless they are way to proud. Ours has an MSRP of about $35,5xx if i remember right and an invoice of about $32,745. I have tried to sell it for $32,500 and cant even get anyone to buy it under invoice!! nice car, just been very few people actually look at it. BadB_Spec
The Spec-B is made for the loyal Suby owner!! The red grows on you over time. I got mine for $32K, which I thought was pretty good. It's nice to know I wont see another one around. I live in Idaho, so there are Suby's everywhere! Even lots of STI's, so having the legacy that no one has is great. Most people dont even know what it is...

Acil
absolutely, the interior is a not as bright and shiny as the pictures make it look, its a little more subtle. After having the car for about 2 months, I almost forget that the interior is red... until someone gets into it for the first time and goes "Wow, this is nice!" BTW, I got mine for about $1k above invoice... I could have probably gone lower, but I have no regrets, this car is fantastic! Gmachine
I purchased #022/500 late December with auto dimming mirror plus homelink, all season mats, shock sensor. Thankfully dealer left car spoilerless. $31.9K before tax etc... The wife even likes the color of the interior. I don't think i have seen one picture of the seats that really capture what they look like in person. Dave
BadB_Spec
Definetly not!!! For some reason when you say red, people think its blood red or something crazy like that. Once they sit in the car its a whole different story.
