GearJamr Posted June 8, 2023 Share Posted June 8, 2023 My front left mid-range woofer has gone to the afterlife. I put in a 6.5" component set from Alpine, with a 1" tweeter. Necessitated modification - I glued it into the "grille" for the door. Since I will have to replace the set, I'd like to get something with a smaller tweeter so I can mount it back on the door and not have to worry about removing the door card when needed. So to the question, does anyone off hand know what the stock tweeter size is? Google has not been helpful (probably not searching right criteria), didn't find a spec in the forum. By memory it looked like a 3/4", but that is from a quick look. I have some old ones in my basement somewhere but I am hoping someone has the answer so I don't have to search in that mess downstairs. GearJamr Posted June 30, 2023 Author Share Posted June 30, 2023 If anyone is ever interested, the stock tweeter size - with housing - is 1.375". The tweeter itself is approx .750".
