I don't know many of the members on here that are in Mass but just remembered that @solidxsnake hasn't been roped in.

Also I want to throw out there the idea of maybe a convoy for those that are grouped together? Could be fun

That would be a good idea.. not to mention more people means more experience!

Both Carlisle and Harper's Ferry are a little cooler on average than Baltimore, but just an FYI for those contemplating camping, it can get pretty hot in this area in June, and it's not a dry heat either. Mid-80s or higher, and 90+% humidity, is likely.

Personally, I'll be sleeping in my bed each night. :p 1.5 hours to Carlisle Fairgrounds.

Elevation.  Baltimore is sea level.  Normally in June the humidly has not yet "kicked in" and is rather mild.  July/August is more humid.  Also to note, we do not have the urban issues that Baltimore has.  People here leave their cars unlocked and running when they go into the grocery store.  The car is waiting for them when they return with the same mileage on the odo as when they left it.  I have forgotten to close the garage door all day and returned to a home untouched.  Crime?  I heard about a man who had a few too many and was cut off at the local bar about 3 years ago.  He pulled a pistol on the female bartender.  He has not been heard from since.

Either location works for me. Harpers Ferry to Carlisle is 86 miles according to google, unless i typed in wrong location.

Chattanooga, tn is my east coast starting point is 564 miles to harpers ferry. And 630 miles to Carlisle.

Y'all changed the date for me. I can be a bit flexible on the location.

@m sprank- I haven't forgotten your pm. Trying to put together a list for you

Downtown Baltimore is at sea level.  Up here in the northwest suburbs, we're already in the Piedmont like you are.  Not sure what your exact elevation is, but based on https://en-us.topographic-map.com/ I am about 650 ft above sea level.  It's cooler here year-round than it is at the Inner Harbor, but it usually still sucks in the summer.

What about other people joining? My boys have 2022 BRZ and 1997 Miata, at least one expressed interest in coming along in his car.

Just now, Enlight said:

83f and 72% aint all that bad.  Sounds like good using the cooler as a bench beer in hand weather.

@thefultonhow I am around 750ft elev.  But, we get the moutain  breezes all day.  Love the aquarium, not much of a fan of the rest of the tourist trap/inner harbor.  Saving grace is Lobster Rolls, sucker for lobster rolls.

The general rule is to invite people that you would vouch for and you're not worried about embarrassing you. That being said, I think the more the merrier and I'm actually planning on inviting my friend who's a Mustang driver.

Baltimore sucks  everything about it sucks  the weather, squeegee kids on Pratt St. Baltimore County ain’t too great either unless you’re in Hunt Valley/Cockeysville or Towson.

Maryland’s speed cameras also suck

We could have it in Atlantic City?

Crabcakes, bro! Crabcakes! Get yer seafood products right! Lobster rolls are a Maine thing.

TBH most of the Inner Harbor is pretty shitty now. The pavilions are apparently only like 1/3 leased, and the management company is going bankrupt. Fells Point is a lot nicer. Frankly, at this point we go to downtown Annapolis more than we go to downtown Baltimore.

Yeah, yeah, f*** you RZA. Nobody wants to go to Atlantic City. It's even shittier than Baltimore. Also, the squeegie boys are banned from like half the downtown corners now, and the speed cameras don't even ticket you until 12 over, and they're a $40 no-points ticket that nothing will actually happen if you don't pay

You ever been to Catonsville or Ellicott City? They have some nice old-town sections (although Ellicott City is technically in Howard County... But the old town is right across the line from Baltimore County).

Lobster rolls might be Maine, but they are far better than Hard Rock Cafe.  Its the inner harbor i am not amused by Ruth Criss.  Masons Lobster Rolls work for me. Lol.

I've been wading through different campgrounds and many of them are RV oriented. One campground that ticked most of our (my) boxes so far is Camp Paradise Stream. It has creekside tent sites (with tree cover), glamping, and cabins. If any of you want to split a roof, they even have a lodge. I can shoot out an email and see what involved with setting aside a block of tent sites.

I mean if you're looking for good food options, Atlantic City has literally everything. Just stay on the Boardwalk or in the Casinos and you're fine.

The Balmer squeegee kids are supposedly banned from certain intersections but it doesn’t stop them from being out there, the city pays them to stay away (also supposedly) they just don’t hang out on Pratt St anymore. Also avoid the Pulaski & Monument St as much as you possibly can if you like keeping your wheels/tires in tact, something about 24 hour tire shops along both roads doesn't sit well with me.

My fiance told me on tuesday she was driving on Pratt with her 100 pound German Shepherd in the back seat & one of the squeegee kids tried taunting the GSD. He immediately went ballistic & spooked the squeegee kid, good

downtown, harbor & Fed Hill aren't bad but they're also not great with all the homeless & the city's become so incompetent with trash pickup the streets are always littered....when we go out we go to Canton, Fells or Hampden (like everyone else)

yeah but it's honestly enough to make everyone around you drive the speed limit or slower which in itself is annoying. In New Jersey we have an unspoken rule, if the speed limit's 65 and we're all doing 80+ they aren't gonna pull us over and it's wonderful

Catonsville is basically Rosedale West   E.C. Is nice but like you said, HoCo. My soon to be in laws live in MoCo, just let me judge you from their ivory towers mr. Motorweek who doesn’t respond to PM’s :hide:

east coast meet? You guys figure out the location?   I'm in Eastchester, NY, westchester county.

Looking like camping site outside of Carlisle PA, dude. You in?

I'll also start a parallel thread later today @Enlight just for laughs as mentioned earlier. See what the long repair and maintenance lists are for a bunch of old-ass Subies to get clodged together well enough to survive a road trip and maybe track day... Curious if the oldest thing to come along will be 4th Gen. I know we're the most vocal on the forum, but I still kind of miss my '02 Outback, for example. It was somehow a little more fun to drive than my 05 OB....

I do have a few things myself to fix up but having bought a house really throws off any spare time. Step 1 is ordering plenty of supertech oil to last me the summer and now this road trip!

That is the minimum. Of course there would be a lot more I'd like to do
