With that amount of miles I was thinking that the timing belt and clutch might be due for replacing. Possibly the turbo as well. Can anyone give me some input on these replacements(cost, reputable replacement brands, other things to replace in the same area while the car is disassembled)? Thanks in advance! ehsnils Posted October 7, 2022 Share Posted October 7, 2022 Compression check to ensure that the engine is in decent condition. Coolant and oil check to see if the head gaskets are OK. Also check for rust under the car, That's where you'd find the bad rust. Even if the paint looks great it can look like crap under the car.
