Amethyst
I was wondering if there is a fuse I would be able to pull on the 08-09 model LGT to make it temporarily RWD. My friend has recently done something similar with his G37, so I was wondering if I can do the same with my LGT. I tried looking up the fuse box diagram on https://fuse-box.info/subaru/subaru-legacy-2005-2009-fuses#2008_2009, but the closest thing I could find to what I was looking for was fuse No. "A" in the engine compartment fuse box. It also confuses me since it states AT models – except Turbo models... in the circuit description. Overall, I'm wondering if there is a fuse that I am able to pull to make my LGT RWD temporarily, and if anyone has done it before.
m sprank
Fuse existed on older non-turbo Subies. It was there for testing purposes. Your car does not possess the fuse.
silverton
There was never a RWD fuse for subaru's. Only a front wheel drive fuse. If you car is a manual you need to do some welding and axle removal. if it's an automatic, you need to look up the torque mada lite mod, and remove a front axle. when removing a front axle you still need the stub for the wheel bearing support, and if your axles are innies, you need to have the inner cup installed as well. I did this to my GC-RS, and while it was fun, the car only ever wanted to be sideways, and that was before the turbo.

apexi
Silverton is correct. On the non-turbos there is an empty spot in the fuse box where you can install a fuse to disable AWD, and make the car FWD. Edited September 1, 2022 by apexi I wasn't thinking and initially said it's for towing when it's not. It's for when the spare is installed
m sprank
I stand corrected. Thank you for that. I suppose with time and age I should not rely so much on my memory.
