2005 legacy gt wagon 

Comfirmed that my bulbs were fine, don’t know why my reverse light would not work. 
I don’t see a fuse for it so what gives? Anybody have same issue, this a common problem? Solution to this?

Did you try new bulbs any way?  If it's not the bulbs, it's likely the reverse switch on the transmission.

Yeah I swapped them to my side lights on the tail lights and bulbs seems to work just fine.

On a manual tranny, the switch is the forward one on the drivers side of the case.

My reverse lights weren't working when I bought my 05 wagon.  Not sure how it passed safety but I digress....

I changed the switch and that worked for a little bit.  Then I noticed my license plate lights didn't work.  Then my high mount brake light.  The wagons are notorious for the wiring cracking and breaking where it passes through the hinge area.  Pull the rubber "guard" out and check the wiring.  If any are broken, there are probably more, so look at all of them.  If wires are broken, either replace the entire wire assembly or repair the wires.

In short, check that all other tailgate functions are working.  If not, head for the wires.
