gimpydingo
My front and rear are clunky going over bump. 103k miles so I think it's time to refresh the suspension. Looking at the OEM struts I am going with these. KYB SR4591 - Front Right KYB SR4592 - Front Left KYB SR4593 - Rear x 2 I'll get new sway and control arm bushing as well. For the control arm I was looking at this set. Any issues or better recommendations? https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=6393204&cc=1433582&pt=7532&jsn=2594 Anything else I should do while I am under there? Thanks! Edit: This might be a better option than control arm bushings as I am not sure I can get that bushing out. Moog control arms and ball joints for about $100 each. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=6553908&cc=1433582&pt=10401&jsn=1192 https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=204093&cc=1433582&pt=10070&jsn=1227 Edit edit: Doesn't seem like the rear struts complete are on backorder everywhere. That puts a damper on this project. Edited June 23, 2022 by gimpydingo Updated parts
Max Capacity
How about sway bar end links, they are known to cause the clunky sound going over things like cracks in the driveway. There are a few threads in maybe a sticky in the suspension forum. I'm still running the Koni Yellows from years ago, with Epic springs. I had my rear suspension arms, etc replaced last year. Labor was $1700 to cut out the old rusty bolts. I brought them all the parts and new OEM bolts. nuts, washers. gimpydingo
Thanks. I was doing searches and couldn't quite narrow down the issues. Good idea to start with end links, I was leaning that direction and should have mentioned. I did get Moog end links for the front about 10k-15k miles ago. Never did the rear. I'll pick up some kartboys or same moogs. If that fixes, great, if not on to the bigger project. Edit: Ordered rear end links and sway bushings. gimpydingo
Luckily simple fix. New endlinks on the rear with new sway bushings, greased all sway bushings. Now gives me more time for a suspension refresh.
